White - Sparkling
N.V. Larmandier-Bernier Champagne Tradition Premier Cru France, Champagne
90 points
12.5%. Toast, chalk, lemon and straw. Good freshness shows on the palate, I like the acid cut present and it is pretty refreshing to drink. Easy to like.
White
2012 Berton Vineyard The Vermentino Australia, New South Wales, Big Rivers, Riverina
88 points
12%. Herbal/grassy with some grapefruit and flint. Medium length, the palate shows off herbs as well. A touch a residual sugar works well.
White
2010 Ducks in a Row Vermentino Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
87 points
11%. Slate and floral aromas. Rounded mouthfeel considering the alcohol. Decent body and medium length. Fine but rather middle of the road.
White
2004 Chambers Rosewood Gouais Australia, Victoria, North East, Rutherglen
89 points
11.4%. Served blind. Aged colour. Peach, lime, musk, toast and lemon aromas. Honeyed mouthfeel, it seems a bit short but there is interest to it. Drink now.

Rosé
N.V. Amulet Sangiovese Rosato Australia, Victoria, North East, Beechworth
85 points
12%. Earthy and yeasty aromas. Grip and sweetness present on the palate but feels fresh overall. Short in length. Odd and not easily likeable.
White - Off-dry
2006 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese Germany, Nahe
91 points
8.5%. Slate, peach, apricot and earthy aromas. Good fruit power on the palate, it does learn towards opulence but the acidity is just there to bring it back. Would be lifted by having more acid but it was pretty delicious overall. No hurry to drink.
White
1983 Trimbach Gewurztraminer Cuvée des Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre France, Alsace
87 points
12.5%. Marzipan, talc and spice but I wouldn't describe it as being powerfully aromatic. Medium length, it trails off a touch toward the end. Drinks well enough but lacks complexity and interest for me.
Red
2001 Main Divide Pinot Noir Canterbury New Zealand, South Island, Canterbury
90 points
12.5%. Stalk, rhubarb and some sweet oak. Light body, there is good red fruit and a savoury background to it. Enjoyable wine with time on its side.
Red
2013 Lucy Margaux / Domaine Lucci Noir de Florette Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Hills
90 points
12.5%. Passetoutgrains styled. Floral, raspberry and some earthy funk and ash. Wild on the palate, has good texture and interest. Light in style but not in character.
Red
1981 Balgownie Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Australia, Victoria, Central Victoria, Bendigo
flawed
Oxidized .
Red
1988 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Cabernet Sauvignon John Riddoch Australia, South Australia, Limestone Coast, Coonawarra
90 points
12.3%. Pepper, mint, meatiness and undergrowth. Still good tannin structure to it, though the fruit is fading out slowly. In a nice place though it is certainly time to drink based on this bottle.
Red
1994 Lake's Folly Cabernets Reserve Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
91 points
12.4%. Saddle, earth, dust and meaty aromas. Good intensity on the palate, there is fine balance and poise to it. The bretty elements on the nose don't intrude on the palate. Could be more complex but this is a wine that is right in my wheelhouse and is consistently very good.
Red
1998 Burton Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Australia, South Australia
86 points
12.0%. Chocolate aromas and there is a battle between ripe and underripe fruit. Not especially interesting on the palate, there is not much character to it. Okay to drink but maybe lost on this night.
Red
1992 Tahbilk Shiraz Australia, Victoria, Central Victoria, Nagambie Lakes
flawed
12.5%. Flat and well past its best.
Red
1994 Tyrrell's Shiraz Single Vineyard Stevens Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Saddle, spice and charcoal aromas. Restraint on the palate is very nice, there is some light grip and while it isn't very complex, it is easy to sit back and enjoy.
Red
1988 Saltram Cabernet Sauvignon Pinnacle Australia, South Australia, Limestone Coast, Coonawarra
88 points
12%. Graphite and undergrowth aromas. Medium bodied, it is showing younger that might be expected, but I still think it should be consumed soon based on this bottle.
Red
N.V. Yaldara Bin 24 Dry Red Australia, South Australia, Barossa
flawed
11%. Corked.
White - Sweet/Dessert
1997 McGuigan Sémillon Botrytis Personal Reserve Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
86 points
12.5%. Ginger, pineapple, coconut and mango on the nose. Palate is all sweetness without having much depth or layers but there is just enough acid available to carry it. Drink now.
