A pleasent introduction to the Fior d'Arancio Doc and its 3 tipologies : Dry, sparkling and sweet (passito)

Flight 1 (6 notes)

White
2013 Tenuta Gambalonga Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio Jelmo Italy, Veneto, Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio
82 points
Light straw yellow, crystalline and vivid.
Intense, complex and fine at nose: agrumes, goldberry, lychees with a mineral background and aromatic. Elegant.
Dry, intense and persistent, with a good acidity and mineral spine.
White
2013 Borin Vini & Vigne Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio Fiore di Gaia Italy, Veneto, Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio
80 points
Light straw yellow, with greenish tones.
Medium intensity at nose, more alcohol than fruit.
Same at taste: less elegant and more strong . Aromatic and mineral components more detached.
White - Sparkling
2013 Cantina Colli Euganei Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio Italy, Veneto, Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio
78 points
Very light yellow. Fast foam.
Dominant sweetish notes at nose.
Coherent at taste. Very light, with a sweet finish. Nice but difficult to pair with food.
White - Sparkling
2013 Alla Costiera Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio Italy, Veneto, Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio
74 points
Fast, abudant foam.
Not very fine at nose, with some defects.
Also at taste seems very sweet and a bit annoying, with a decreasing acidity.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2009 Azienda Agricola Montegrande Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio Italy, Veneto, Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio
83 points
Bright topaz golden yellow.
Caramel, dry apricots and some alcohol at nose: fine, medium intensity, but complex.
Rounded and persistent at taste, sweet, but with a good mineral spine. A bit deceiving when compared to nose
White - Sweet/Dessert
2011 San Nazario Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio Messalino Italy, Veneto, Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio
85 points
Full antique gold. Brilliant.
Some alchol coming out at nose, but not disturbing. Rich notes of dry fruits, caramel.
Well balanced at taste, sweet, but a with a very nice mineral background.
