Siduri Pinot Noir 2012

Introduction

Our tasting group did a horizontal of Siduri Pinot Noirs from 2012. These came from 8 different vineyards, so see the effect of the vineyard on the wine. It was an interesting tasting. The groups preference was almost perfectly south to north (Sta. Rita Hills to Willamette Valley). Scores are mine, notes are a combination (with preference for my tastes).

Musty, earthy nose. Cherries, some smoke, and coca-cola on the palate. A long finish. Group number 2 wine, my number 3

Smoke and cloves on the nose, plums and rich blueberry on the palate. This was the groups number 4, and my wine of the night.

Apples and cinnamon on the nose, Pepper and spice with berries (particularly strawberries) on the palate. This was the groups number 5, and my number 2.

Pepper (and a hint of green beans) on the nose. Cherries and berries on the palate. One taster thought it had a hint of beer! This was the groups number 6, and my number 5.

Closing

Everyone in the group remarked on how good all the wines were. Congrats to Adam and Diana for a job very well done!
