2013 Te Mata Estate Coleraine New Zealand, North Island, Hawke's Bay
94 points
56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc.

dark garnet/purple, deeper than Awatea. very young, intense cedar and dark fruits. firm tannins, a little chewy, oak dominating palate, moderate cassis and herbal flavours, restrained strength, solid power in the core. can feel good weight and grand structure. lingering long.

hard to judge at this stage, but surely good for cellar. should re-taste it 5 years later, could be the greatest Coleraine ever, as what the producer believes. I have 2007, 2009 vintages in cellar for my kids. I would no doubt to cellar a case of 2013 if I had a baby of this wonderful vintage :-)

Alc 13.5%, TA 6.2 gL, pH 3.53. RC 19.5, BC 98, SK 100.
