Flight 1 (3 notes)

White
1994 Franz Hirtzberger Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Honivogl Austria, Niederösterreich, Wachau
92 points
Really showing well, great honey and lemon notes, really beautifully aged!
Red
1934 Château Cos d'Estournel France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
96 points
Tasted blind, very warm nose, chocolate, quite intense but nice acidity, graphite, stable notes. Could really be a mouton.
Red
1955 Domaine de Chevalier France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
94 points
Irish moos, sunday roast, chocolate powder, caramel, creamy, eucalyptus, I guessed this was a Heitz Martha's vineyard with all the eucalyptus. But - halas - it was a Bordeaux...

Flight 2 (2 notes)

Red
1920 Château Siran France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
94 points
Tasted blind. Torf, dill, lots of smoke, salmon (??) malt, roasted coffee, tobacco. Very interesting wine with a super long finish. Love stuff like this
Red
1966 Château Cheval Blanc France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
100 points
Tasted blind. Beautiful, beautiful sweetness, herbs, coke hard candy, honey, asian seasoning, green tea. this bottle felt incredibly young. So so so amazing.

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red
1961 Château Phélan Ségur France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
89 points
Tasted non-blind out of magnum. Slightly austere, but still quite dense, a bit metallic, but nevertheless still quite good as it has this nice balance and notes of a typical aged bordeaux
Red
1982 Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville
95 points
Tasted non-blind out of magnum. Eucalyptus, super dense, very long, bordering fat, and that in a 33 year old wine. Amazing stuff!

Flight 4 (3 notes)

White - Sweet/Dessert
1967 Château d'Arche Sauternes France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
96 points
Tasted blind, out of magnum. Creme brulee, malt, lots of malt, super long. Awesome stuff. You can really see the amazing vintage
White - Sweet/Dessert
1917 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac
95 points
Tasted blind. Performing so much better than the last bottle I had recently, this has so many fantastic notes of espresso, creme brulee, molasses and espresso ice cream. A nice bitterness that balances the sweetness with a very long finish. This is just a very very nice aged sauternes

White - Sweet/Dessert
1916 Château Guiraud France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
93 points
Tasted blind. From what is not considered a particulary good sauternes year, this stands out and holds its own. Very medicinal, lots of creme brulee, nice length. Good wine.
