Small pour. Nice, with citrus, minerals and yeast. Not complex, but very good with good typicity at the price point hard to beat.

N.V. Jean Lallement Champagne Grand Cru Brut
90 points
Small pour. Interesting with some funky earthiness, nutty, grapefruit, citrus, yeast, unique. Not quite entirely sure how to process it, this was different from many champagne offerings but enjoyable none the less!
Rosé
2012 Bedrock Wine Co. Ode to Lulu California Rosé

Light salmon color, drank 2 oz pour over 15 minutes. I found this most enjoyable, from magnum. showing some nice fruit yet, watermeleon and cherry hints with good minerality, balanced with medium length. 88- 89 pts.

not all that much going on, some minerality, vague red fruit, washed out.

Light gold color. Drank 2 oz pour over 15 minutes. Very lovely, crisp acid, some grapefruit, lychee and mineral, the palate is consistent. Love the acidity that carries throughout.
Red
2009 Quilceda Creek Red Wine Columbia Valley

Very dark red color. Drank a 2 oz pour over 10 minutes. Showing ok for its age, some new wood, dark fruits with some hints of red fruit, spicy, firm tannins that are releasing.

A very quick revisit, and showing as expected. citrus, pear, fleshy, some mineral, medium body. Solid QPR always.

2006 Cain Vineyard & Winery Cain Five
Fortunately I was not betting on this wine. A few said corked form the outset - good for them. I and many other didn't think so early on. I fully admit that after about an hour plus and retasting, it was corked....my bad....there you go, drink them early on and they might be so bad :) Showed some nice mountain character initially.

2004 Tua Rita Syrah

Talk about a wine divergent opinions... this is it. Never had it before, not sure what to expect. Have to say I was surprised in a good way. Definitely an old world wine and i did enjoy it, very earthy and damp, deep red fruits, with good balance and some depth. Restrained in an odd sort of way. Seems to be in a decent place for drinking now.

2009 Booker Vineyard Alchemist

Sweet ripe fruit, fairly well balanced, not over the top at this point, very dark fruit, firm tannins. Can hold on a bit more.
Rosé
2014 Epoch Estate Wines Rosé

Light salmon color. Very nice, serviceable minerality, citrus and some subtle berry notes.
Rosé
2014 Château Pesquié Ventoux Rosé Terrasses

Solid and fresh with strawberry, spice and citrus, pretty decent acid.
White - Off-dry
2002 Weingut Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Spätlese 303 Goldkapsel

Oh, this was delightfully good, with lots of fresh ripe fruit, tropical, apricot, pineapple, peach, mineral, hints of fusil, great mineral and good balance. Long. Drinking very well. 92+pts.
Red
2005 Domaine Charvin Châteauneuf-du-Pape
91 points
More of a classicist in every way, but showing some ripeness, though really not over the top, darker fruit than some vintages, medium plus body, spicy, some herb de provence, some heat shows. Could use some time, in the in between phase. I expect ti see this emerge in 3 years or so to a more elegant style.

2005 Roger Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Prestige
90 points
I thought the nose was excellent on popping, slow-O for 2 hours and then splashed before travel. The palate was better initially and seems just too much now. Not really where I'd like this to be. Showing too much wood still and too much spiciness. Good nose, The fruit is there and potential, dark and dark red, with some earth and minerality ,charcoal, pepper, very spicy but just not the nuance that one hopes for. needs more time. A bit much right now. Give this 2-3 year at least.

2005 Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon Estate

Very dark red./purple color. Drank 1+ glass over 30 minutes This was one of the highlights of the night. Great purity, such nice pure cassis, creme de cassis, some damp forest floor, excellent balance, lovely tannins, a real treat.

Probably my WOTN, it shows amazing depth, fantastic savory, roasted meat, blood meal and smoked beef, tar, with dark fruit, but restrained and balanced in every way. Deep, provocative, wonderful. In a very good spot on a PNP! Thanks so much Diane and Derek!

2009 Domaine de la Mordorée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de la Reine des Bois
Very dark red/purple color. PNP. drank 1+ glass over an hour plus. Pedigree, yes, ready, no..at least not without heavy decanting. The palate is heavily laden with new wood, pepper, anise, oodles of black fruits and very firm astringent tannins. Not anywhere near where I want to drink this. The nose with its mix of dark fruit, spice and creosote suggests where this might go, but only time will tell. Score withheld. Not ready. Give this 3-4 years before trying unless you have a number.

2006 Turley Petite Syrah Rattlesnake Ridge

Drank a small pour blind. Intense, fragrant berries, very big, tons of pepper, firm tannins, medium full body. Black fruit on the nose with hints of earth. Thought this was a syrah from Washington, hit the vintage.
Red
2004 Turley Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge
87 points
Drank a small pour blind. Lighter color, slightly bricked, Raisinated, older, dried fruit, prune, black cherry, firm tannins, heat, fruit fading, older, hot. Close on the age, called this 2002, thought maybe Wash or Cali red blend over the hill.
Red
2001 Pride Mountain Vineyards Petite Sirah
87 points
Drank a small pour blind. Not much different than my previous experience, though probably more approachable with some riper black fruit, cassis, dark chocolate, and framboise. Thought this was younger given the new wood presence and the heat. Thought this was a cab or cab blend most likely.
