Light and developed color. A bit shy nose with tea, something chemical and red berries. Medium body. Nice fruit and good acidity. Developed and mature, but quite straight-forward.

2008 C.V.N.E. (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España) Rioja Imperial Reserva Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja

Dark red. Vanilla and red fruit on the nose. Solid amount of oak. Was tested in both a chianti and a bdx glass, appeared more balanced in the chianti. The oak is too dominant now, but I believe the aging potential is good.
2011 Xavier Vignon Châteauneuf-du-Pape France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Candy fruit, spice and some alcohol on the nose. A lot of power, but not too much. Long finish. The alcohol is quite pronounced, but I believe there is a good potential here.
