Introduction

A guided tasting of this winery, by its owner, Vittorio Navacchia.
Wines are 50% on Imola hills (clayey, for white grapes) and 50% on Forlì hills (more sandy, for Sangiovese), for a total of 24 Ha.

Light Golden yellow, vivid.
Medium intensity at nose, but good complexity and fine. Anis, sage, talcum and fruity (peach).
Dry, alcoholic and medium roundness. Good body, with high acidity and minerality. Clear tannic note. Unbalanced, leading to the harsh side.
Intense, persistent and fine, with an embittering mineral ending.

Brilliant straw yellow, with greenish tones. Consistent.
Intense, very complex and fine- at nose. Fruity: Mango, cedar; mineral hints (hydrocarbons), Floreal (Zafran), some noble mildew...and more!
Dry, alcoholic (15%). Good acidity and minerality+. Entering wide, with alcohol leading and then keeping its structure, for a long mineral ending. Lacking a bit of fruit, but intense, persistent and fine.

Dark ruby red, with violet rim. Consistent.
Intense, complex and fine at nose: Red fruits (macerated cherries), alcohol+ and some spices (Tobacco).
Dry, alcoholic and rounded. Good acidity and medium minerality. Young tannins, a bit ligating. Good body, Intense, persistent and fine. Nice alcoholic entry, widening with acidity and tannins. Medium balance.

At nose more powerful, intense and mature than 2013. Blackcurrant, Tobacco and coffee!. Very complex and fine.
Dry, alcoholic (15,5%) and nicely round. More minerality than acidity.
Velvety at taste, chewy, with a nice fruity and mineral finish.

Garnet red, non trasparent, consistent.
Rich at nose, with hints of burned caramel, blackberries, tamarind and vegetal note.
Very rounded and well balanced, also with a evident mineral note.
Intense, persistent and fine, with the mineral note a bit dominating on fruit.

Consistent topaz yellow.
Medium intensity at nose, but complex and fine: mainly dried fruits: apricot, almond.
Sweet at taste (150 gr./lt), well rounded, but with a nice acidity and minerality. Intense, persistent and fine. Well balanced, also if sweetish note becoming dominating and tiring in the end.
Steel only.

Closing

A very good average level, with the white Thea, the Amphora and the 2011 Sangiovese on the shields.
Just a negative note for the high alcohol level, common to all wines.
