Moderate plus pink with some salmon and peach color. Slight grapefruit, slight ripe peach, almost a bit of herbaceousness as well. Fresh nose. Significant frizzante, extremely fresh palate, low alcohol, elevated acid, light body, no bitterness. Moderate length! So refreshing
White
2014 Matthiasson Chardonnay Linda Vista Vineyard USA, California, Napa Valley

Moderate concentration straw. Fresh and ripe nose with just a hint of buttercream oak, high acid, and crisp green apples, lemon, and just a hint of cool tangerine. Moderate alcohol - 13%? (actually 12.8%). Persistent!
Red
2012 Achával-Ferrer Quimera Argentina, Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo

Inky purple in the glass, opaque. Earthy, brambly nose, with that weirdly green Malbec grapey chemical weedy thing. Not sure how to describe this, but it smells like Malbec. Also violets, sage, underbrush, and dried flowers.
Dry, full-bodied, with elevated alcohol 14.5%? (correct). Hints of new oak on the palate - baking spices - but holding it well. Elevated acid - it really sticks out, as if acidified. A harsh tartness on the finish. Moderate minus tannins. Some bitter chocolate and purple grape on the finish. I’m not a fan but it’s clearly ripe fruit. Persistent.
