Reddish violet with brighter maroon rim; raspberry, concrete, violets, garrigue, fig, classic CdP; fruit on palate is phasing away from blueberry, sweet macerated fruit, almost jammy, firm grip, old vines, touch of alcohol; needs more time but this is delicious; called R. Usseglio Imperiale 10.

1995 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Very dark core with garnet rim; red currant, dark, smoky, classic Bordeaux, a bit darker fruit, chocolate, funk, cigar, big and chewy, grainy finish, cedar, really good mid, sappy, seems like 2nd growth or better.

Red
2012 Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Pretty crimson, rusty rim; sweet though a bit boring of a nose, strawberry, roses, cinnamon; similarly the palate shows same character but with sand paper like tannin, sweeter fruit then spicy cinnamon, elegant then tannins crush your palate; usually love the wine, hope the fruit eventually stands up to very firm structure over time.
Red
2011 Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts St. Georges France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Darker core with bright maroon rim; perfumed, violets, dark cherry, raspberry, a bit young and reduced, great density, dark and a bit tarry, love the texture; tannins are a bit young, seemingly fatter, slightly reduced, spice, darker riper fruit, cloves on the finish; tasty.

Black core with thin reddish violet rim; tar, ash, slight soy, currant; very dark fruit on the palate, sweet wood, black currant, toast, some tannin, softer acid, fleshy mouthfeel, leather, green pepper; called '08 Oreno as there was no clay or iodine in this; very nice and should improve with bottle age.

Closing

A tremendous tasting showing great examples that were just a bit too young and others that were drinking nicely now.
My #1 was the Pianpolvere, #2 the 95 Pichon Baron, and #3 the 01 Musar.
