Great wine! Cherries and other red fruits in the nose, earth, cedar, cigar box, iron and butter/ cream notes. Full bodied concentrated, soft & smooth with well-integrated tannins (sticking to your teeth) and long lingering on.

Seems to become monolithic and hard, missing the elegance of earlier bottles. But tough competition from other wines at the table. In the nose ripe fruits, cake, mint and pebbles. Medium to full palate with nice balance, fruits and iron notes. Time to finish your bottles within the coming years I would say.

Elegant and stylish wine. Iron and dark fruit in the nose. Complex and smooth on the powerful palate with herbs, ripe red fruit, Round and smooth tannins and some acidity in the end with mineral and iron notes. No hurry to drink, this should easily last another 15 years. 94 points for now.

1990 Château Haut-Bailly France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Attractive wine, luscious, nice balance with good acidity and good length. Pessac dust and tobacco and cedar in the nose. Better than expected based on the general reviews.

1982 Château Pape Clément France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Fairly light color, orange-brick on the rim. Wonderful complex in the nose with thick ripe fruits and then iron, blood, brick, dust and earth notes. On the powerful palate elegant with fruits, pebbles, iodine earth and a great finish. Still going strong but probably better enjoy now.

1986 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
95 points
Beautiful complex nose full of ripe fruits, cream, herbs, some iron, tar and earth. Luscious and smooth on the well-balanced and delineated palate. Seems a lot younger than you would expect.

One of the finest and most elegant examples of the old 'Cordier style'. Very complex nose with tones as barnyard, old leather, tobacco, iron and menure. Concentrated and full bodied with a beautiful elegance on the dense palate. Thick dark fruits, meat/ blood, Mostly dissolved tannins and some pebbles in the finish. Classical Left Bank Bordeaux, can live forever.
