2012 Greer Cabernet Sauvignon Greer Vineyard
98 points
Beautifully integrated with powerful tannins 8.5/10. Even at this youthful stage this is stunning and great to drink.
Multi-dimensional and layered with some velvety tones and no alcoholic heat.
A rounded great wine!

2001 Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon The Montelena Estate

This restored my faith in Montelena. I have been ignoring Montelena for a few years now as they are just too feminine for me and lack strong body integrated with finesses. But this one has it.
Decanted for a couple of hours. Integrated and full bodied. Light fruit.
Tannins 7.5/10

2008 Abreu Madrona Ranch
92 points
This was decanted for at least 6 hours.
Not yet integrated with strong tannins 8/10. The alcohol heat detracts and it seemed singular. Not on my ongoing wine list for the price.

Good powerful tannins 8.5/10 with dark chocolate in the mid palate and finish. This was PnP so probably not fair to it.
The alcohol is too strong but a few hours may totally change it.

Beautiful nose and front end fruit. Powerful tannins at 7.5/10. Classic short merlot finish.

2008 Maybach Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Materium

This was my WOTN - just a shade above the Greer mainly because the fuit came through in the nose.
Now this was an unfair comparison as this was a PnP and the Greer had been decanted for many hours.

This was a PnP. Very dark finish with powerful tannins as a classic Napa floor cab.

2012 Cayuse God Only Knows

Not my style - I am sure power, grenache drinkers will love this. Rich and dirty funky nose. Rich and high in alcohol.
