Tasting, small note. Aromas show classic green apple with lemon and lime with some riper peach notes, but there also seems to be an ocean breeze here, foreshadowing the wine's minerality. Similar flavors with an oystershelly finish. VG+ for the vintage. 93-94 point potential.

Tasting, brief note. Very ripe and large-scaled. Ripe apple throughout. Excellent concentration with power I truly enjoyed but isn't necessarily "classic" for Chablis. Very good, but I'd consider this best on the younger side vs what I'd typically think for wine at this level.

Tasting, brief note. Easily the most complex wine of the vertical. Leaner fruit with less coming forward, but there is coiled energy here, really coming through on long finish. I'd cellar this longer than the 2008. The upside potential is greater here vs 2008 (but riskier?), while the '08 will clearly be easier to enjoy over the next few years.

Tasting, brief note. A great cross-section of rich, fat flavors and aromas. Red cherry in the lead, with dark chocolate, mint, anise. Starts out very "2009" as a forward and alluring wine, but finishes with Bonnes Mares terroir with lots of structure, even if the tannins are unusually elegant. 93-94 point wine based on its upside from here.

Tasting, brief note. Wonderful combination of red and black fruit with a sweet cherry core but just so much nuance already emerging on nose and palate. Very long and expanding finish with spice really coming through. I have not tasted this since before bottling, and it is much better now than in early 2012. The best vintage I can recall ever tasted for Rousseau's Clos de la Roche.

Tasting, brief note. Ripe black fruit with a slightly odd aromatic character I didn't fully enjoy. Better flavors. Overall ok for its level in a good vintage.

Tasting, brief note. The absolute class of the vertical. Long and powerful but with an accessible weightlessness that made it easy to enjoy. Very enjoyable right now, which is rare for most 2005 Grand Cru.
