Introduction
Some wines were opened, others Coravinned. Great evening.
Flight 1 (6 notes)
White - Sparkling
2004 Philippe Gonet Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée Belemnita Blanc de Blancs
Lots of brioche, Mesnil citrus, classic style, very concentrated and mineral, still young despite 2004. Very fine.
Red
2011 Domaine Nicolas Faure Nuits St. Georges Les Herbues
Sweet red fruit nose, taste red fruit with some dark tones, a bit sturdy, limited complexity. Fine.
Red
2011 Cecile Tremblay Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes
Such an elegant nose, spice, red fruit, lots of body but with a beautifull leanness, drinks so well, so balanced. Very fine, gorgeous.
Red
2007 Domaine Anne Gros Clos Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui
Perfumed nose, took some time to blossom, a bit less expressive than the bottle I drank almost 2 years ago. Red fruit, plum, spice, lots of weight in mid-palate, long finish. Great Clos Vougeot, certainly since this is from 2007. Very fine.
Red
2009 Maison Ilan Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Les Chaffots
Wow. This is lovely now. Lots of fruit, spice, sweetness, this has developed since the last time I tasted it. Serious wine, volume and length.
Red
2014 Weingut Keller Bürgel Spätburgunder
Had to guess this wine blind, thought it was a Morey St. Denis village wine from Burgundy. Red fruit nose and taste, spicy and perfumed, still young, some tannins in the end. Fine.
