Introduction
Day discovering the hill of Hermitage - walked to the top and explored the different terroirs, visited the famous chapelle, then tasting of Jaboulet and Chapoutier wines in Tain.

Pale lemon. Lemon, floral, vanilla, honey, nuts. Developing. Dry, medium acidity, medium (+) alcohol (13.5%), medium (+) body, pronounced flavours on the palate. Very good, needs time.

2013 M. Chapoutier Ermitage Blanc Le Méal

Pale gold. Lemon zest, stone fruit, almonds, hazelnuts, marzipan, vanilla. Developing. Dry, medium (+) acidity, high alcohol, full body, pronounced flavours - marzipan, pineapple, honey, mineral, long finish. Outstanding, already drinking well, but no doubt will improve with time.

Medium ruby. Pronounced dark fruit, black pepper, smoke, leather. Developing. Dry, high acidity, high tannins, rather rustic, medium alcohol, full body, pronounced flavours. Needs air - not ready for drinking yet. Lots of character.

Medium garnet. Pronounced aromas of black cherries, cocoa, roast meat, vegetal, earth. Developing. Dry, high acidity, medium (+) ripe tannins, medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body, medium (+) flavours, long finish. Very good, approachable now, but ideally needs time to develop.

Medium garnet. Pronounced aromas of black cherry, black olives, black pepper, barnyard, leather, vegetal, roast meat. Developing. Dry, high acidity, high ripe tannins, medium (+) alcohol (14%), full body, pronounced flavours - primary fruit much more dominant. Long finish. Outstanding Hermitage, ideally to be left for several more years.
