Introduction
Welcomed by Paul Amsellem and taken to see the famous Cote de Vernon, the original slope in Condrieu. Amazing opportunity and delicious wines to try. Showed me that I can like viognier, even if I'm not convinced about the PQR.

Pale lemon. Lychee, mango, pear, vanilla, honey, very complex. Youthful. Dry, medium acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), full body, pronounced flavours similar to the nose, but with significant mineral edge. Very long. Outstanding.

Pale Lemon. Nose still quite closed. Pear, white pepper, apricot. Youthful. Dry, medium acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), full body, pronounced flavours of pear, apricot, mineral, iodine. Long finish. Outstanding, but feels like it needs some time to show full potential.

Medium purple. Bramble, black cherry, black pepper, violet, liquorice, vanilla. Youthful. Dry, high acidity, medium (+) ripe tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, elegant, pure fruit, similar to the nose. Medium (+) finish. Very good, potential to be outstanding, but still young. 3% viognier, 97% syrah.

Medium garnet. Pronounced and complex bouquet - aromas of cooked and dried fruit - bramble and prunes, bacon, leather, earth, smoke. Fully developed. Dry, medium (+) acidity, medium fine ripe tannins, medium alcohol, medium (+) body, pronounced flavours, very elegant, long finish. Outstanding, fully mature Cote-Rotie. Small amount of viognier.
