Introduction
Tasted non blind.
Flight 1 (1 note)
White - Sparkling
2004 Guy Charlemagne Champagne Grand Cru Mesnillésime Vieilles Vignes Blanc de Blancs
90 points
Charming, full, chardonnay, mature, broad, sweet and embracing.
Flight 2 (18 notes)
Red
1999 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde
89 points
Quite lively, very much côte-rôtie, good bottle. Not great in terms of length, but good, while it lasts. Certainly entry level, but quite typical. Tough crowd, though

Red
1999 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Château d'Ampuis
95 points
The style is the same as in La Mouline, but this is the better wine, more structured, better acidity and balance. Too young, certainly, still oak here to be integrated.. Grand Vin. 95+
Red
1999 Saint Cosme Côte-Rôtie
Quite gemacht, dark, roasted. Just passable, but many will like it... sweet aftertaste. Better with air, but still not singing. Much be more than ten years since I tasted this, when SF stole on from my cellar and served it blind at my birthday-party... liked it better then.

1999 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline
94 points
Quite sweet, charming, chocolate dominates – alot. Light in colour but very concentrated. Needs time, certainly, and will eventually surpass the Ampuis. 94++ points
Red
1999 Domaine Garon Côte-Rôtie
91 points
Chalky, dry, mineral nose. Light and tight taste, good typicity. Herbs in da house, cool & elegant.
Red
1999 Domaine Gallet (Henri et Philippe) Côte-Rôtie
82 points
Lack of character, dry. A bit heavy. Fading, certainly.
Red
1999 Mathilde et Yves Gangloff Côte-Rôtie La Serene Noire
94 points
Dark, dark, tar, olives... a manly côte-rôtie; cool stuff, a mystery man, will have a long life. 94+
Red
1999 Domaine Duclaux Côte-Rôtie
90 points
Dark, a bit heavy, but just okay balanced – and quite delicious. Almost creamy texture, the vintage shines here in an often less than magnificent cuvée.
Red
1999 Jean-Michel Gerin Côte-Rôtie Champin le Seigneur
92 points
Delicious and forward, modern leaning, but very nice and balanced, complete cr Juicy and ready. From PB.
Red
1999 Jean-Michel Gerin Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places
96 points
Great as always; deeper, darker, with a cool, minty note (initially). Compact, too young, but very balanced. Grand Vin. A favorite tonite. 96+
Red
1999 Guy Bernard Côte-Rôtie
90 points
Old school in a cool way; barnyard, wild west, meat, olives – a bit thin at the end. Juicy, but not overly complex just a real charmer.
Red
1999 Delas Frères Hermitage Les Bessards
91 points
Broader than Marc Sorrels hermitage. Chocolate galore, roasted notes, coffee.... Quite rich, as always, Les Bessards speaks. Still young. 91+
Red
1999 Marc Sorrel Hermitage Le Gréal
94 points
Brownish colour - not to be trusted. Lean and a bit unforgiving at first, but it wakes up in a great way. Cool, stony, light on it’s feat. Very good balance, will keep. 94 point.
Red
1999 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle
88 points
A bit green, lean but ok balance. Ready to drink. But when you think, what this could be... tough crowd, though.
Red
1999 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
96 points
Mature, soft, fruit, gentle; fine acidity, complete and complex. Surprisingly forward, the vintage speaks. Grand Vin. 96+ point
