More lean and mineral than last time, this comes across as a light, very refreshing, very elegant champagne with loads of small red berries, a fine, but not aggressive acidity and a good balance. No signs of old age. #Kandestederne #Ib&Pia

Much better on day 2: Initially, I was guessing Pacalet because of the free running juice, the clear and lively Pinot, but on day, this adds a bit of spice and mineral backbone, while still hitting the swet and vibrant Pinot-nerve big time. A silky wine, a bit nerveux, true to the place, and I will probably never taste it again, which is sad - but it is in my glass right now, which a good thing. #Kandestederne #Ib&Pia

"Certainly better than the 2005" was Ib's remark, and I agree, but only in terms of the last 2005 tasted; this 2001, served vis a vis Celestins 1998, is a cool cat, garrigue galore, minerals, sweet Grenache, impeccable balance. A point right now, I think. #Kandestederne #Ib&Pia

Meaty, rich, sweet, unashamed; this is all in on the Grenache. No signs if fatigue nor of oxidation, just rich, rich fruit, and some might find this too much, I do not, I think of Bonneau and I salute him; a man of the local land.
