2006 Domaine Ponsot Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Clos des Monts Luisants Vieilles Vignes

Drinking beautifully from magnum. Tastes exactly its age and at peak. Nice weight and body. Lip smacking, lively, and salty with honey, clove, citrus, and celery. Magnums best -2019.
White
2010 Alice et Olivier De Moor Bourgogne-Aligoté Plantation 1902

A lighter weight style but with presence. Runs through a few quick flashes: fresh, sweet, savory, vegetal. Drink now.
Red
2010 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée Les Hautes-Maizières
90 points
Nice spine but there's a mildly bitter net holding this back. The chunky tannins support a nice density. Could hold but I'm not sure how much better it would be once resolved.

2006 Sylvain Cathiard Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Aux Thorey

Can't get enough of the amazing sweet and earthy nose. This was more appealing, classy, and available than the 2008, and bigger, more beautiful, smoother, and more structured than a 2010 Arnoux Lachau Haut Maizieres we tried side by side. Loving 2006 Burgundies right now and this is great example of why. Ready to drink and may even continue to improve. Drink -2022.

1999 Maison Leroy Bourgogne

A little funk on the nose. Sweaty. Earthy. The great surprise for an 18-year-old Bourgogne here is the billowing midpalate, which retains a hunky poise and plenty of real fruit. Defies expectations. Well done Maison Leroy! Drink now or in the next couple of years. -2018

2007 Domaine Denis Bachelet Côte de Nuits Villages

Restrained? or just short? This is a quieter wine but once you let it sink its teeth in you there's a lot there, from little burrs of cherry and berry fruit to a pleasant greenness. Drink now.
Red
2013 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Corton-Perrières

Just not ready yet, even with two hours in the decanter and another back in the bottle under cork. Currently comes off as narrow, even pinpoint, and intense with a crispness and depth. I can imagine the elegant wine that will emerge in 5+ years but my score can't grant it that benefit of the doubt. Drink 2021-2030.

2008 Sylvain Cathiard Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Aux Thorey

Tannic and tooth-stripping as compared to the 2006. Plenty of dense, vivacious fruit there but really needs a few years to chill. Try in 2020 and drink through ~2026.

2011 Henri Jouan Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbé

A beauty with lovely fruit, moderately firm but lacy structure, and a pillow of black licorice to keep it interesting. Makes me want to look for some other 2011s. Drink now - 2021.
