Flight 1 - Sangeet (5 notes)

Red
2000 Reignac France, Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur
90 points
Classic left-bank Bordeaux - blackcurrant, leather, slight spice from new
oak and Brett, slight savory pyrazines (stewed bell peppers). A hint of sweet BBQ character. Plenty of savory development (tamari, leather). This has developed nicely.

Medium plus body, medium plus alcohol, medium plus acid, medium tannins - polished and melted. Medium plus length finish - savory and sweet. A good balance of richness and structure.
White - Sparkling
2016 Vietti Moscato d'Asti Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Moscato d'Asti
90 points
5% alcohol. Strong frizzante. The sweetness (maybe 30-40g/L) is well balanced by strong acidity. Clear exuberant terpenic aromas - fresh peach, ripe lychee, a hint of fruity detergent-like notes. Light and refreshing, with a persistent finish and great midpalate integration. Perfect on a hot day. I didn't get tired of this.
White
2015 Pascal Janvier Jasnières France, Loire Valley, Jasnières
88 points
An excellent mostly-neutral white. Nose of apples and estery white flowers/pears, with just a hint of underripe peach.
Feels like there's a touch of RS (~2g). High acid. Nice texture - possible lees stirring? Green apple finish. A nice wine to drink without thinking too hard.

(edit: It appears I've blinded this before and it's more aromatic than I perceived on this evening.)
Red
2014 Banshee Pinot Noir Sonoma County USA, California, Sonoma County
86 points
Medium ruby color. Classic Sonoma Pinot nose of ripe red cherry (slightly confected), black cherry, slight impression of toasty oak.
Dry, medium body, elevated alcohol, medium plus acid.
An excellent Cali Pinot in a riper style.
Red
2014 Jax Vineyards Y3 TAUREAU USA, California, Napa Valley, Calistoga
87 points
Great New World cab blend!
Black fruit. Oak toast. Slight black char on the nose. Charred blackcurrant - Rich fruit.
On the palate, ripe and full-bodied with high alcohol - 14.5%, elevated acid, and elevated tannins. Very satisfying red.

Flight 2 - Wedding (3 notes)

Red
2000 Château de Chambrun France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Lalande de Pomerol
88 points
Classic mature Bordeaux - Black fruit, riper and more Merlot-driven than the Reignac, slight pyrazines, brett, new oak. Sweet tobacco and tamari tertiary notes.
Dry, medium body, medium plus alcohol, medium tannins - very soft and melted. Everything is here!
Red
2014 Tinpot Hut Pinot Noir Marlborough New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough
86 points
Medium minus ruby color.
Red cherry. Slight forest leaves. Medium plus acid. Slightly elevated alcohol.
Aromatically a very nice example of NZ Pinot, though (maybe due to the warmer climate in Marlborough),it's on the less acidic side.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2005 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac
88 points
Rich gold color in the glass.
Lovely botrytis mixed with new oak on the nose - sweet cinnamon, clove, wax, and saffron. Rich, honeyed aroma, with hints of tart apricot and Meyer lemon fruit.

On the palate, sweet (feels 130-150g), elevated alcohol (14%), medium plus acid - bright but not as strong as, say, the '01 de Fargues.
Sweeter and riper style, in the context of Sauternes. En-point aromatics.
