As nice as when I tried this at a tasting. Quite open and easy to drink. As someone noted before me, more generous on the nose than the palate, which is quite mineral driven and elegant.

Great expressive nose, still quite a bit of sweet vanilla, wood spice perfume and fresh tobacco, but mostly sweet black fruit. Soft attack on the palate but beneath is some serious but hidden structure, with fine acidity and very finegrained tannins. This should rest for a couple of years I think.

We drank this to some old fashion meat stew, following a bottle of Johann Michel Cornas. Compared to the Cornas, this had a more strict tannic style, oak feels integrated, still very berry driven and not completely forgiving. Maybe a thinnish mid palate.
