Flight 1 - Sparkling (4 notes)

White - Sparkling
2002 Georges Vesselle Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
92 points
Bread, maturity, mushroom, vanilla, slight oxidized. Medium acidity, lively mousse, tingle on the back of the tongue, lingers. A bit short to hit the really high mark.
White - Sparkling
2008 Philipponnat Champagne Blanc de Noirs Brut France, Champagne
86 points
Fresh, young, lime zest, oak. Lively but short, bitter end, gun powder, iron.
White - Sparkling
2008 Michel Arnould & Fils Champagne Mémoire de Vignes France, Champagne
87 points
Mango peel, avocado, vanilla, nougat, licorice on the nose. Smooth velvet like. Nice acidity, good length, citrus caramel. Starts very good but sort of dies once the temperature rises.
White - Sparkling
N.V. Eric Rodez Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée des Grands Vintages France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
94 points
Intense aroma, yellow apples, sweet berries, syrup from coctail berry can, white flowers, Wrigleys Hubba Bubba chewing gum, melon. Beautiful taste, great volume, great balance, a true beauty.

Flight 2 - Sparkling (3 notes)

White - Sparkling
1995 Bollinger Champagne La Grande Année France, Champagne

Oxidized, apple juice, oak, flowers. Tart, medium acidity, heavy, unbalanced but good.
White - Sparkling

White - Sparkling
N.V. Paul Dethune Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Brut France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

2015 Zahel Pinot Noir Ein Kleines Fass Austria, Wien
83 points
Caramel, strawberry, ash. Light bodied, medium acidity, medium tannins, peppery finish.
Red
2014 Marimar Estate Pinot Noir La Masia Don Miguel Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
91 points
Reminds me of a good German/Czech PN, hints of green, oaky, coffee. On the palate some strawberries appear, tart, heat ends it all but not in a bad way. Great!
Red
2012 Domaine Hrabal Pinot Noir Suché Czech Republic, Moravia, Velkopavlovická, Velké Pavlovice
76 points
Dusty, green, maturity, tar, mint, rich, heat, pepper, ash. Similar to a smoky whisky.

Flight 4 - Red (3 notes)

Red
2007 Domaine Perrot-Minot Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
90 points
Maturity, great nose, hints of green, jasmin, raspberries, new car leather seat. Slender, white pepper, tingle, good.
Red
1976 Domaine Henri Lamarche Vosne-Romanée France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
73 points
Past peak, glue, smoky. Too long gone for me.
Red
2012 Calera Pinot Noir Ryan Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Mount Harlan
86 points
Compact sweet fruit that first made me belive it was a Malbec. Paraffin, bicycle chain spray, plastic, chocolate. On the palate lingon berry, raspberry, powerful tannins, weak acidity that makes it a bit unbalanced.
