Rich in the nose, full ripe stone fruit, ripe citrus, lemon leaf freshness. Rich palate, oaky, nutty, almond, nice acidity, balanced, well structured, ripe stone and citrus fruit, long almond infused finish.
White
2016 LaGarde Sémillon Argentina, Mendoza
89 points
Mineral, smoky, light, low to med intensity in the nose, broad.
In the palate, the wine shows med body and intensity, ripe citrus and stone fruit, oily but refreshing, long finish. Interesting
Red
2014 El Enemigo Bonarda La Esperanza Argentina, Mendoza
88 points
The nose is rich, filled with ripe red and black fruit, sweet spices and subtle use of oak.
In the palate, the tannins are soft, rich red fruit again, spicy, med to long finish, easy. Could work with food or on its own.
With time, opens up nicely in the glass
Red
2013 LaGarde Cabernet Sauvignon Primeras Vinas Argentina, Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo
89 points
Ripe red fruit, oaky but not heavy, ripe green notes that add freshness, slightly spicy, currant, cherry, nutmeg, a bit of alcohol.
The palate is relatively easy, red fruit, a bit tough tannins but then again the wine is young, spicy, med body and intensity, med to long finish with a bit of alcohol burn again.
Red
2012 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc Gran Enemigo Gualtallary Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Gualtallary
94 points
Full red fruit, herbal, spicy, thin oak frame, floral, ethereal and silky.
Elegant in the palate, smooth, rich red fruit, spicy, herbal, light oaky, med body and intensity, med to long finish. Very fascinating expression of a variety that is quite often overlooked. Would have this any day
