Flight 1 - Pre Drinks (1 note)

White
2012 Weingut Keller Morstein Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Rheinhessen
86 points
A suboptimal bottle? Sweet typical nose. Viscous palate with overripe fruit where watery pears with brown spots are the most obvious. Short and poor.

Flight 2 - Champagnes (3 notes)

White - Sparkling
1976 J. de Telmont Champagne Heritage France, Champagne
87 points
Golden yellow to amber with a mature and welcoming look. Nose with ripe fruit tones and ox. Poor palate with dead fruit, no effervecense and a bad finish. The wine is over the top or oxidised.
White - Sparkling
2000 Henriot Champagne Cuvée des Enchanteleurs Brut France, Champagne
91 points
Golden dark straw yellow. Nose with butter tones and some spices. Powerful, firm impact with a violent mousse. Acidic with green apples and some spices. The wine appears as lively, fresh and spicy.
White - Sparkling
N.V. Jacques Selosse V.O. Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
92 points
Pale straw yellow. Brilliant, clear. Nose with floral notes, spices, yellow fruit and perfume. Lively on the palate with a slight overweight of acid. Granny Smith and sitrus is prominent. The wine is very long and harmonious.

Flight 3 - Whites (4 notes)

White
2000 Nikolaihof Riesling Vinothek Austria, Niederösterreich, Wachau
89 points
Golden straw yellow. Smells dusty graveltrails, lime and minerals. Hints of tropical fruit, rubber and burned matches. The palate is acidic with some tropical fruits and apple peel. Feels a bit thin and watery. Unpleasant finish.
White
2012 Domaine Michel Juillot Corton-Charlemagne France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
89 points
Blank with hints of yellow. Unpure nose with flowers and sweet fruit in the background. Viscous palate with hints of citrus / grape. Finish with burned matches and some chemistry.
White
2010 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Flaw - tasted like coconut, vinegar and poison!!

White
2012 Blain-Gagnard Bâtard-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
90 points
To begin with, the nose has vegetables and flatulence. This blows off and leaves a clean impression of the smell. Medium viscosity. Ebb, minerals and burnt matches. Unusual flavors like leather and licorice are also present. Grapefruit in the end. Crisp.

Flight 4 - Reds (8 notes)

Red
2014 Domaine Anne Gros Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
90 points
Red with purple hue. Metallic nose, cherry pie/ compote and some spices. The palate has earth tones, cherry, hints of swarf, and some blood. The tannins are present but not annoying.
Red
2011 Lucien Le Moine Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
90 points
Dark fruit, spice and candy. Modern expression with few and well-integrated tannins. Acidic. Opposite to the opening the wine finishes with sour berries like red currants.
Red
2000 Château Nenin France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
89 points
Dark dense red. Nose has agriculture, dense fruit with hints of iron and metal. Tannins dries the palate a tad. As in opposition to the nose the palate has thin fruit. Medium length. Hints of coffeegrounds in the finish. Drinking well now.
Red
2005 Joseph Phelps Insignia USA, California, Napa Valley
93 points
Dark red. Spices and blueberry with hints of iron and metal. Soft and delicious feeling in the mouth. Blue berries and calm behavior. Significant and definite structure. Nice length. Decanted in a wide decanter for 3-4 hours. Could have doubled this and some of the obscuring tannins would have lifted and given way to even more fruit.

Red
2009 Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Cicala Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
89 points
Dark red with a blue hue. Nose with spices, spelled and hung meat. The palate has cherries and hints of liquorice before violent tannins enters the oral cavity and dries it up completely. Packs a lot of heat and alcohol. Not being a big fan of violent tannins this ruins the impression of the wine. Lay down for several years.
Red
2005 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Hermitage
92 points
Dark red - without signs of age. Spices and fresh cherries. Greatly balanced and with an admirable structure. A juicy and fresh wine. Blind I did not recon this as a Hermitage, rather Piemote!

Flight 5 - Sweets (4 notes)

White - Off-dry
2011 Markus Molitor Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
86 points
Suspect a weak bottle. Tame and anonymous nose. Watery palate without any special touch. Hint of tropical fruits.
White - Off-dry
2016 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
92 points
Classic tropical nose. Cool and clear fruit. Medium viscosity. In perfect balance.
White - Sweet/Dessert
1995 Château Sigalas Rabaud France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
93 points
Golden nutty brown towards orange. Strong nose with chemistry and burnt sugar. Hints of raisins, prunes and alcohol. Viscous mouth. Honeytones, apricot and burnt sugar. Powerful and very rich. Cannot see this as very food friendly, but will work as a standalone dessert or as a candy replacement.

Red - Fortified
2011 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
89 points
Tricky. The last wine in the sequence of 21 this evening and this note probably does not provide the wine the righteousness it deserves. Some cherries and hints of tannins?!? Layers upon layers of taste. Marzipan in the finish. Will improve with years, for sure.
