Introduction

Tasting with Guillaume Michel at Domaine

Flight 1 (5 notes)

White
2013 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Les Forêts France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Tasted at Domaine. More approachable than the 2014 tasted right before. There's quite alot fo fruit here, not your typical MdT, however there's good definition on palate but it doesn't resemble the same wine. Preferred the '14. For a more immediate consumption.

2014 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Les Forêts France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Tasted at Domaine. Minerality and stones is what more often comes to mind when tasting this wine. A lot of citrus and orange peel on palate along with iodine and wet stones. Reminds to 08 but with more muscle and structure. A vintage to keep and age.

2013 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Tasted at Domaine. More approachable than the '14 tasted side by side. Despites the lineal structure what stands out the most is the fruit and volume which for me makes it an unusual MdT. All Michel '13s I have tasted so far seem to be for the short term consumption.

2014 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Tasted at Domaine. Shows the typical MdT profile at this young age... pale color, light body, almost delicate but with the iodine and sea shell benchmark that I enjoy so much in this wine. Guillaume Michel says it's a wine to keep 10 years. Needs time. This will be superb.

White
2013 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Tasted at Domaine. This one is more subtle, delicate and feminine than Forets or MdT. Actually it has a remarkable floral aromas you don't find in the others. Surprisingly rounded and thin on palate, it's easy to drink although it carries enough acidity and a mineral finish.
