Chateau Palmer vs Chateau Margaux
Rare-Bordeaux-Weine, Wachtberg (Germany)
Tasted May 26, 2017 by DrZett with 598 views
Introduction
This was our second tasting night after the beautiful 1982 vs. 1990 vintage tasting the night before.
Once again all bottles were in perfect condition and had been cellared carefully over the last decades. This is the most important thin with old bottles - you need to know where it is coming from and where it was cellared.
Thank you Elke from Rare-Bordeaux-Weine for this amazing experience!

Difficult nose, very nice aging notes and some, still fresh, red fruits on the palate. The finish is medium-long. Clearly at the end of its drinking period but still beautiful - after 70 years! Don't give it too much air!

Awesome! 70 years old and still power left - you could even feel this in the nose! Beautiful soft fruits aromas, paired with lacorice and wet leather notes. Aged beautifully! Would never have guessed 1947 if i tried it blind, more like mid 60s.

One of my favorites from this night! Beautiful round body full of dark red fruits and good tannins. Love it!
