White
2014 Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen Chardonnay Blauw Belgium, Haspengouw

My first belgian wine and quite a nice one. Lemon zest, rubber and a hint of popcorn put me immediately in the direction of Chardonnay. Lively acidity. Good, more lean structured on the mid palate. The oak (50% used barrique, 50% steel) is finely interwoven. Good length. Nothing spectacular but a very solid showing.
Red
2012 Dalrymple Vineyards Pinot Noir Bicheno Australia, Tasmania, Coal River

Blind I’ve never thought this Pinot would come from Australia. More red fruited with aromas of red cherry and plums mixed with a underbrush note. Definitely a cool climate wine for me. Red fruit (again) on the palate. The high acidity holds the tension on a certain kind of level. Oak only plays in the background. Elegant finish. Nice showing.
Red
2006 Jean-Claude Boisset Chambolle-Musigny Les Chardannes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny

A real disappointment for me. This wine doesn’t deliver any of the (for me) typical Chambolle characteristics. The guys went from Italy to Southern France and other regions but not Burgundy. Way too ripe and bold without any of the red fruit, elegance and pure sexiness Chambolle could show. The only ray of hope was the cooler driven palate with a good acidity backbone. I only could laugh when I see the actual prices. Please spend your bucks elsewhere.

2016 S.A. Prüm Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Spätlese AP #06 17 Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

The previous review from Dirk says it all. Nothing more to add here for me. The only thing which really surprised me, was how dry the wine really comes around. Invest your money in other more serious stuff.

1983 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Auslese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

AP 07 84. Jochen brought another stunner which was my WOTN. Hedonistic nose with lots of ripe apricot, toffee, mandarin, wild honey, herbs, tea and also a certain green dill note. The acidity still plays on a high level although the wine is very round without any edges. Soft mouthfeel with a medium long finish. This Auslese is just lovely to drink. It might miss the last depth, length and tension but at this point of the evening I hardly could ask for more. I think the wine will stay on this level for a couple of more years but I couldn’t imagine that it will gain any better.

1993 Jos. Christoffel Jr. (Christoffel-Prüm) Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese *** Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
91 points
Heard some spectacular things about this particular wine from Christoffel but unfortunately this bottle couldn’t fulfill my high expectations. A bit one dimensional with lots of white fruit and a hint of dextrose on the nose. Fine and elegant palate but I miss the fireworks completely. Good but absolutely not great. Maybe just not a perfect bottle?
