the food at Chez Bruce was excellent as always with some really nice game dishes on the menu for fall
the wines all came from david's cellar and all were in great shape

what a nice way to start lunch-golden yellowy color, a little touch of sherry and yeast on the nose. in th emouth a zing acidity still, biscuits and a little citrus. small zippy bubbles, medium length

First white wine of the day. not giving a huge amount on the nose, bit of white flowers. in the mouth really pure and precise, minerally with fine fruit...great balance and med length. really nice in the mouth and will go well for a few years.

second white, clear clean color, light yellow. smelled like stone and gravel with a little floral background and some petrol. the wine was cuttingly crisp and pure, a touch of citrus and all stones...great mouth feel and long length...this wine has some time

3rd of89 Claret flight. dark purple color with a lightening around the edges. spicy blackberries on the nose, some grassy veg smell.most developed of the three clarets. med weight, med finish, nice drink,has many years left on it

First claret of the lunch. ruby color with a little bowning around edges...lead pencil and some dark berry flavors. good balance coating the mouth . med length. very nice drink nd still many years ahead of it

dark purple color. nose a bit closed, a little bit of black currant. wine was a bit tight/closed and really wasnt giving much (had only been decanted for like 45min) it was medium weight with a medium finish...i would like to try this one again in a few years

dark garnet color, nose of smokey meats and black fruits. decanted for like 45 min. this wine remains one of myfavorites to drink. this bottle had all the dark fruits and rhoney leather, smokey flavors i remember, it is mouth coating, heavyweight wine with a long finish, this bottle was a bit more closed than i remembered but still a big brooding wine that i wish i had more of

dark purple color. sweet casis and dark jammy fruit nose. very diff taste to previous wines, fruitty cali cab, losts of creamy blackberries and currants. viscous and heavy in the mouth and very long finish. very enjoyable wine, needs more time
