Flight 1 (8 notes)

Red
2007 Reverie Cabernet Sauvignon Special Reserve USA, California, Napa Valley, Diamond Mountain
Darker core with violet rim; oak, creamy, plusher dark cherry, juicy, some stem; more density for Pinot, some grip and alcohol, some Cola, sweet and drinkable though needs some time, touch of heat on finish, good density, elegant and primary; nobody on Cabernet with this, too soft and silky.
Red
2011 Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Dark maroon core with lighter rim; watermelon, herbs, sour cherry, plum skin, juicy, powdery mineral; juicy, nice richness with tart fruit, kind of strict, has texture but the sourness of the red fruit took me to Cote de Beaune.

Red
2007 Ritchie Creek Cabernet Sauvignon USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District
Dark chocolate core with dull garnet crimson rim; aged, oak, plump, ripe, raisin, soy, chocolate, sandalwood; tannin, blueberry, blackberry, big, modern.
Red
2014 Domaine de la Côte Pinot Noir Memorious USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills
Super light crimson, pale rim; a bit reduced, strawberries, mineral, earth, herbs complicate nose, slight sweet edge; piercing on the palate, sexy, cranberry, strawberry, high acid, fresh, super crunchy red fruit; most in Burgundy, also heard Jura and Sicily.
Red
2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits St. Georges Les Charmois France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
flawed
Corked
Red
2012 Delas Frères St. Joseph Sainte-Epine France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, St. Joseph
Dark core, cloudy, dull purple rim; bacon fat, violets, smoky, raspberry, darker in back, plum; plumper mouthfeel, big, a bit heavy, grainy, alcohol, heavy, a juicy undercurrent, acid and extract don't match making this awkward at this stage.
Red
2001 Peter Michael Les Pavots USA, California, Sonoma County, Knights Valley
Dark core, dull maroon rim; creamy oak, blueberry, some age, tar, nutty; motor oil, heavy, blue and uber ripe fruit, high alcohol, nutty, grainy tannin; Amarone-esque weight and richness- notice I said the same thing previously so at least they're consistent.
Red
2000 Château Montrose France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
Dark cloudy core with dull maroon rim; leather, wet earth, tobacco, green pepper, currants, licorice, good year, balanced, weighty, serious, currants, boxwood; delicious, easily my WOTN, want to savor this.
