Ekenhov

Introduction

Just a better family dinner. Salmon and a sallad from the garden followed by asian crossover slow cooked pluma iberico and a potato and bean sallad.

Flight 1 - Champagne (1 note)

With the Salmon.

White - Sparkling
2006 Beaumont des Crayères Champagne Brut Fleur de Prestige France, Champagne
91 points
Briche, apples, lemon and Cream. Quite broad and rich, already displaying maturity. Not for the long run but good now and very good QPR. Excellent as a house champagne.

Flight 2 - International Pinot (3 notes)

A very even flight. Neigh impossible to pick a winner, it’s really down to personal preference and what you’re craving at the moment. All quite elegant. For natural juiciness: Liaison. For sexy, silky, smooth: Lafarge. For a bit more seriousness: Resonance.

Red
2015 Résonance Pinot Noir USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
91 points
Elegant but with hints of darkness and a bit of structure to it. Some tannin. Long. Good stuff!
Red
2014 Enderle & Moll Pinot Noir Liaison Germany, Baden
91 points
Natural juiciness in a light but very good version. Strawberries galore. Wish for a little more length.
Red
2015 Domaine Michel Lafarge Bourgogne France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
91 points
Elegant. Silky smooth. Quite sexy, beautifull fruit: strawberries, some boysenberries. Just a hint of vanilla. Not much tannins. Good acidity and minerality. Very good lengt. Nice! No obvious need of cellaring, even though it won't hurt.
