Red
2015 Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley USA, Washington, Columbia Valley
85 points
Solid CS without any rough edges and without any excitement. Good for a group of non-winedrinking people for dinner.
Red
2006 Quinta do Vale Meão Douro Meandro Portugal, Douro
90 points
Solid Douro with a fantastic PQR. Makes much fun now, but can also be kept for a few years more.
Red
2005 Celler Vall Llach Priorat Embruix Spain, Catalunya, Priorat
88 points
Solid Priorat at its peak. Though no hurry needed, has at least 5+ years ahead.

Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Popped and poured. Our host and I killed the whole bottle in under 1h. I guess that says almost enough about this wine. Clear, pale lemon-golden color. Clean, youthful nose that opens up with time and reveal beautiful aromas of Grapefruit, zests and herbs.
Sweet, but perfectly balanced by ripe and high acidity. Only 8,5% abv. On the palate at first a bit disappointing thin, but then kicks in the afterburner and coats the whole palate with a wonderful mixture of herbs, spices, mineral notes and citrus fruit. I guess no or very few botrytis, so this Auslese is very airy and nowhere cloying or fat. Has decades ahead, but is already very delicious. Will gain complexity with time to come. 91-92++
