Slightly oxidized, shy and very dry.

I adored this champagne. Fresh bread dough, almond extract, oxidation, very complex.

For Sauvignon blanc, not bad. Only slightly slightly grassy. Nice florals, a touch oxidized. With time, the nose becomes curious with minor complexity. Unscored because I'm not a fan of sauvignon blanc.

Bellisimo's bottle. Red-fruited and quite savory. The tannins are soft, and there is spice, herbs, underbrush and leather.

Pop and pour, this kind of drank like a Bordeaux, although there was an element of smoke to it and it was dark in flavor. Plenty of earth, tobacco and leather. I wish I had more.

I have found Pol Roger to be spotty. Even among bottles that I purchased, some are amazing while others are uneventful. This one was more on the uneventful side. As ROCKNROLLER said, it is crisp and clean. There just isn't much there. I hope to have better experiences with this wine in the future.

From a magnum, qualitatively this performed at the same level as their NV's. Too young?

To me, this wine is gaining weight and becoming more "typical" for Sauternes. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing. This is still relatively fresh and not overly sweet. I'm wondering if I should hold my remaining 750's for 5 years or so?

Oxidized, totally ok but not nothing special. This is a starter wine.

Gravel, dirt, peppery and red-fruited with cherries dominating. This would make a nice pizza wine.
