White
1989 Louis Jadot Corton-Charlemagne Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Alluring mature nose with aged white fruit, mushroom and earth. Good structure with mature, tiring fruit. Light-to-moderate concentration in the finish. Best in the first 20 minutes of being poured.

A terrific bottle with full, intense aromas that include youthful white fruit, florals and spice. The palate has excellent Grand Cru concentration. Rich, lively, fresh and long.

Not giving much on the nose. The palate round with fairly ripe tasting and sweet fruit. Pear and orange rind. Okay, but I think the vintage is showing through here.

Red
1997 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
94 points
Intense and full nose of red and black cherry with spice and earth. The palate is round and seamless with medium-to-full concentration in an effortless and ethereal frame. Goes on and on.

1997 Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Domaine Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
95 points
Third time with this wine in the last few years, and it is consistently a marvel. The nose is deep and sultry with so much intense black cherry, meat and spice. I immediately guessed Gevrey. Grand Cru concentration and terrific power, while showing precise detailing. Long, delicious.

Another amazing 1997 from Jadot with deep, rich and intense aromatics of red and black cherry, with iron and spice. The palate is so concentrated and powerfully flavorful. Densely packed while showing precise, complex flavors. Fantastic. Blind, I slightly preferred this to the Beze.

Sadly, corked. Would've made a wonderful addition to an amazing Jadot 1997 flight.

From a not sound bottle. Advanced.

Full nose of non-delineated black cherry, meat and spice. This is awfully young with chewy structure and Grand Cru-like concentration. Still brooding and needs time. Upside from here.

2002 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Domaine Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru

A wine that is really delivering right now. Lifted, alluring nose of ripe black cherry with a great sweet and savory (meat, spice) interplay. That palate shows Grand Cru-like concentration with deep, detailed flavors. Lush, but with plenty of acid lift. Excellent now.

Initially fairly aromatically closed, but with 30 minutes in the glass it opens to reveal fairly brooding candied and ripe black cherry. The palate is rich and packed with riper cherry fruit, spice and notions of meatiness but its a bit muddled and not precise. Good and fun, but not up to the likes of the 2002 tasted in the same flight. Probably at peak.

Flight 4 (1 note)

White - Sweet/Dessert
2000 Domaine de la Bongran (Thevenet) Mâcon-Villages Cuvée Botrytis France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Mâcon-Villages
91 points
And now for something completely different ... Botrytisized sweet wine from Burgundy!? Served blind, I was leaning towards Chenin given the flavor profile and acid brightness. Plenty of honey and sweet white fruits, with good lift. Very nicely done.
