Bought in grapes. Deep ruby. Mid red fruit. Slightly bramble. A freshness and lift here. Very appealing. Easy drinking but with some depth and interest. ***1/2

Bought in grapes. Darker than the San Vicente, a touch of purple here. Darker fruited too with a plummy richness. Fuller. A slightly bigger, plusher wine that’s more of a crowd pleaser but I prefer the San Vicente’s extra vibrancy and lift. ***1/2

Lovely nose. Quite restrained, bright red fruit and a touch of warm terracotta with floral top notes. Fresh with mid-red fruit. Harmonious and energetic. Excellent. ****

Darker in the glass than the Reserva, alongside. A touch of cherry here. Darker nose too. Smooth and finely dense velvet to the reserva’s silk Not quite as giving or expressive at this stage, but very smooth and supple. Just a hint of fine tannin long after the wine has left the mouth. More Garnacha here and some Graciano too. Probably the better wine but I prefer the Reserva for now. ***(*)

Very fragrant, peach and pear nose. Quite full. Some richness but also a touch of acidity towards the finish. Northern Rhône styled. Lots of stonefruit. Reasonably long. Not my style, but lots of wine here. ****
