Introduction

Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought yourself was poured.

Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2009 Château La Tour-Martillac Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
91 points
Citrus, nutty flavors, full bodied and ripe, good acidity and firm, but ok bitterness.

Red
2006 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
94 points
Without any doubt this was the WOTN for all participants of this tasting. The most powerful, complex and elegant wine of the evening. In the bouquet beautiful oak, dark berries, graphite and vanilla. On the palate a lot of dark berries, graphite, luxurious oak, laurel, sweet spices and beautiful acidity and tannin. A very completer and still very powerful wine which will improve until at least 2024+. For this evening 93 – 94+

White - Sweet/Dessert
2003 Château La Tour Blanche Sauternes France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

Beautiful, silky and concentrated wine with an excellent balance between acidity and sweetness. Of course the usual suspects like apricots, orange zest, honey, etc. Complex and elegant. Very happy to have a few more.
