First of several rounds of summer rose tasting.

Flight 1 (12 notes)

2018 Domaine Sorin Côtes de Provence Rosé Terra Amata France, Provence, Côtes de Provence
88 points
Always one of my favorites and this vintage does not disappoint. Fresh, light, balanced, and distinctive. Great value at $12+ and 13% alc. Going in the cellar
2018 La Domitienne Grenache Gris Sud de France France, Languedoc Roussillon, Vin de Pays d'Oc
83 points
Partial ML dominates any fruit, not a lovely nose, it would serve in a pinch with hearty food say a fish stew but there are so many other nice roses out there.
2018 Peltier Rosé of Pinot Noir USA, California, Central Valley, Lodi
88 points
Another well made wine from this much improved winery. Fresh, tart and floral with just a hint of green fruit. A lighter style, very balanced rose with a vibrant flavor and lingering exit, 11% alc and $17.
2018 Weingut Müller Zweigelt Rosé Austria, Niederösterreich
90 points
Aromatic floral and berries, balanced, fresh, nice weight the mouth, lovely exit. Nice color and $13 and 12% alc. Perfect summer rose. Bought four bottles for now.
2018 Domaine Santa Giulietta Corse France, Corsica, Corse
91 points
The most aromatically complex rose of the flight and my opinion the best. The lovely fragrant tropical nose was only surpassed but the weight and balance in the mouth, and then the tiny edge of soft tannin in the exit. 12% alc and $12 I only bought 4 bottles at his point but it is early in the season and more fun things may come.
2018 Domaine Poli Patrimonio Clos Alivu Rosé France, Corsica, Patrimonio
88 points
Best of this producer, a lovely complex rose. Pricey at $22, also !3% alc
2018 Domaine Poli Île de Beauté Sciaccarellu Rosé France, Corsica, Île de Beauté
84 points
Bordering on thin and watery with a vague nose, then tannic waxy in mouth, okay balance. Not a bad wine but ... there are so many better choices. $16 and 12% alc
2018 Domaine Poli Île de Beauté Niellucciu Rosé France, Corsica, Île de Beauté
86 points
Mild nose but more substance in the mouth than the Sciaccrellu, this is more interesting and well priced, did not make my buying cut but may come back to it. $16 and 12% alc
2017 Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rosé France, Provence, Bandol
88 points
Lovely very substantial rose, but at $34 it misses the point of rose for me. I know that Bandols cost more but I have tasted several very competitive wines tonight and half the price.

2017 Pico Maccario Piemonte Barbera Lavignone Rosato Italy, Piedmont, Piemonte DOC
89 points
Lovely rose, very aromatic berry nose, quite fresh for a 2017. Well balance with just a hint of waxy tannin in finish. Very nice. Did not buy because there were others in the lineup that that I liked even more and were 2018's but a good value at $15.
2018 Isabelle et Pierre Clément Domaine de Châtenoy Rosé Classique France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Menetou-Salon
84 points
Simple mild, fruit, floral nose. A big just ok rose, a bit flat and cloy all for $21, I pass.
2018 Cave de Saint-Roch-les-Vignes Côtes de Provence Rosé France, Provence, Côtes de Provence
85 points
Mildly impacted by a partial ML, a decent rose that would work with food. Not my favorite but drinkable. $16 and 13% alc

Almost all were in contention for the cellar. I passed on the 2017's but the Barbera was excellent. Bought a case, but pending the next tasting may revisit.
