Lemon curd, apple, honeycomb and some berry with medium weight. Good length. good now.

Small glass, brief note. Rich lemon curd with orange peel and tropical fruit hints. Good+ weight and still very bright freshness.

Small glass, brief note. Restrained aromas and flavors with rich buttery textures and seemingly good density, just without the pleasure to be expected of Grand Cru.

Subtle floral start alongside peach and mango aromas. Similarly rich flavors, well buttressed with very bright acidity. Showing the expected Spatlese level of sweetness. Very good now, with upside.

Seemed very tired, slightly oxidized, so possibly heat damaged.

Mature black and red cherry with leather, roasted meat, cooked mushroom and very savory spice. Good depth and length, with enough vibrant structure to keep this bright for another decade+. Bottle in great condition with <0.5cm ullage.

So ripe and sweet that this is not a style of Pinot Noir I enjoy.

Small glass, brief note. Mostly mature red cherry with tobacco, earth and dried herbs. Maybe a bit more earth than I'd expect at this age. Good depth.

Small glass, brief note. An incredibly well made wine in its rich, opulent style. Lots of blackberry, black plum and sweet spice aromas with good depth and fleshy fruit. Nothing shy here. Good enough structure, but I wouldn't age this much longer and would enjoy before the fruit matures further. and the wines loses some balance.

Small glass, brief note. Ripe black plum with cassis, espresso and cigarbox. Good+ wight and balance with good elegance for the 2003 vintage. Very good now.

Small glass, brief note. Lots of great stuff here, but this is just hinting at its real potential. 92+ point potential, at a minimum needing until 2025.

Tasted double blind. Clearly "old world" and also seemingly French, but then tough from there. Backward and not particularly ripe, while this was clearly enjoyable, this seemed more modern than classic.
