Red
2017 Thousand Candles Shiraz Gathering Field Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Yarra Valley
90 points
Bright colour. Peppery, cherry, red berries - nice savoury cool climate style. Red tinged fruit on the palate, nice acid lift and good overall balance. Drinking well now and over the next 3-4 years.

Red
2015 Condie Shiraz The Gwen Australia, Victoria, Central Victoria, Heathcote
88 points
Licorice, blackcurrant, redcurrant and some peppery meaty notes. Fairly sweet style on the palate with a burst of red and black fruit. Holding up structurally but probably not a very long term prop.
Red
2017 Ruggabellus Fluus Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
89 points
Lifted nose with tart cherry, stems, sea spray, red berries and roses. Good acid, fresh and bright with light red fruit. Mid length, nice young profile.
Red
2017 Gibson Shiraz The Dirtman Australia, South Australia, Barossa
88 points
Blueberry, smoke, blackberry and licorice. Sweet and rich on the palate, with some spice and an alcohol lift. Good length and open for business now.
Red
2016 Kilikanoon Shiraz Killerman's Run Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley
88 points
Crimson tinged. Ripe berries, licorice, some ash and chocolate. Fairly well composed on the palate, with some sweet fruit showing through and moderate structure, mostly through medium acidity. Pretty easy to drink and gets the job done at the $20 mark.
White
2018 Pewsey Vale Vineyard Riesling 1961 Block Eden Valley Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Eden Valley
91 points
Just released. Yellow/white florals, lime, mineral and orange rind. Fresh and tangy, though it has a ripeness pulsing through the background of the palate. Nice combination of power and precision. Good length, with the upfront flavour giving it approachability and the acid and freshness giving me hope for the future.
Red
2017 Cirillo Grenache The Vincent Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
89 points
Cherry, redcurrant, stalks, smoke and plums. Bright and juicy palate with smoke in the background. Medium length. Very pleasant with some interest for the money.
Red
2011 Pietranera Brunello di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
91 points
Cherry, plum, red current, and pencil shavings on the nose. Nicely savoury, fine tannins providing good structure and some red fruits in the background. Still youthful but getting to a good point for drinking over the next 5-6 years.
White - Fortified
1965 Bodegas Toro Albala Don PX Selección Spain, Andalucía, Montilla-Moriles
95 points
Complex nose with plum, chocolate, orange peel, violets, cedar, tobacco and raisins. Delicious on the palate, rich and sweet with fantastic balance through a strong acid line. Really superb power with explosive intensity that packs a lot of flavour into each small sip.
