Introduction

Wines brought by DK Oikos wines

Flight 1 (5 notes)

White
2016 Casas del Bosque Sauvignon Blanc Gran Reserva Chile, Casablanca Valley
Fermented and matured 6 months in second use oak. Volcanic soil
High intensity of green notes, capsicum, tropical fruit, minty with the oak standing in the back.
The palate is rich, impressive, filled with green flavors again, very jalapeno peppery on the verge of being called spicy, alcohol heat, med finish.
Very interesting, nothing like it
Red
2017 Viña Santa Rita Malbec 120 Reserva Especial Chile, Central Valley
Your typical straightforward, easy drinking, fruity, light and smooth, simple, party wine, a bit green and spicy, red fruit bits with short to medium finish.
Red
2017 Casas del Bosque Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva Chile, Maipo Valley
11 months in 25% new oak.
In the nose, the wine shows rich aroma, blue and black fruit and sweet spices from the oak.
The fruit stands in the back, mirneal, alcohol heat (14.5%), tobacco, surprisingly soft tannins, green pepper and herbal. With time, the fruit opens up but its still on the green/herbal side. Ends with a medium finish,

Red
2014 Viña Santa Rita Cabernet Sauvignon Medalla Real Gold Medal Chile, Maipo Valley
Rich in the nose, red fruits, capsicum freshness, the oak (2nd & 3rd use) offers sweet spices and mostly nutmeg. Give it time and you get more spices and fruit. Palate follows the same pattern. Classic in style, traditional and overall no surprises here on what to expect from such a wine of such a producer
Red
2011 Viña Santa Rita Triple C Chile, Maipo Valley
65% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Carmenere
The wine is rich in the nose, sweet spices, vanilla, red and black fruit, cherry, elegant with a bit of alcohol heat.
The palate is again quite rich, clean, showing red fruit, a bit drying, developing, medium finish filled with sweet spices.
