Don organized what was to be a small gathering to share 2002. But it is summer so we had over 25 people and 40 btls of '02 champagne. A bday was acknowledged with some '59's and we brought a 3L of '98 PN. The evening was a great success as everybody shared!

Lighter color, good nose, small pour, bday with from Gary's cellar.
1959 Bodegas Vega-Sicilia Ribera del Duero Único Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero

Almost 100 pts with another pour, great color, depth on the palate, wonderful showing. Wow.

Flight 4 (1 note)

1998 Rex Hill Pinot Noir Reserve USA, Oregon

Wow. Served out of a 3L and did not dissapoint. The neck of the Btl held the ap same size cork as does a 750ml. Great color, mature, woodsy nose, long finish, just really good to share with great friends.

Next up the XMAS gala and maybe a California theme.
