White - Sparkling
N.V. Louis Roederer Champagne Brut Premier France, Champagne

Small glass, brief note. Current release, 2018 disgorgement. Bright apple with some berry, good balance, good weight.
Much better vs 2013 disgorgement we drank 2 days ago.

White
2011 Kumeu River Chardonnay Hunting Hill New Zealand, North Island, Auckland, Kumeu
87 points
Small glass, brief note. Others enjoyed this much more, but I found it to be a simple one-dimensional Chardonnay with a rich start I liked, but little else of noteworthy merit.
White
2013 Bevan Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Dry Stack Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Bennett Valley
86 points
Small glass, brief note. Still ok, but less interesting today ca when last tried one year ago. Good fruit, but fading, and that grassy grapefruit character is a bit much for me.
White
2004 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
91 points
Tasted several times over several hours. Clearly mature, but maturing gracefully with charming butterscotch and caramel apple notes alongside rich orchard fruit aromas and flavors. Good+ weight and length.
White
2011 Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières Domaine France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
90 points
Tasted twice over 2 hours. Opened 30 minutes in advance, given my prior bottle. Good apple and pear aromas and flavors with good weight, better length, and even better minerally textures.
White - Off-dry
2004 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese Germany, Nahe
92 points
Small glass, brief note. Floral start with spice, peach and tropical hints. Clearly sweet but also so bright, making this a charming food wine. Good+ length.

1998 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
88 points
Slightly dirty and fully mature red and black cherry aromas. Cleaner flavors, much better in general. Probably a few years past its peak drinking window. Tasted twice from two different bottles today, same experience.
Red
2009 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Celebration France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
89 points
Small glass, brief note. Lighter style for the vintage with medium+ weight. All red fruit, slightly spiced, nicely accessible and ready for certain now.

Red
2009 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Garnacha Campo de Borja Spain, Aragón, Campo de Borja
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Ultra modern to an extreme degree, but there is very good weight and length, plus enough balanced structure to easily keep this bright enough.

2013 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barbera d'Asti Superiore (Bionzo) Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Barbera d'Asti Superiore
87 points
Small glass, brief note. Also ultra modern with black Plum, lots of dark chocolate and sweet spice hints. I like this overall, but find the finish a bit warm.
Red
2005 Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Aux Champs Perdrix France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
86 points
Small glass, brief note. An odd 2005, seeming too ripe and too advanced without the requisite structure...shocking for the vintage. Drink up if this bottle is correct.
Red
2000 Château Clos St. Martin France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
91 points
Small glass, brief note. Currant and cassis on nose with dark chocolate and savory, meaty spice. Similar flavors with elegant balance and textures, good+ weight and very good length. Very impressive and good for now, but the ability to drink well for another couple of decades.
Red
2012 El Enemigo Gran Enemigo Argentina, Mendoza
89 points
Small glass, brief note. Modernist Bordeaux style with ripe black currant, espresso, cassis aromas and flavors with some sweet spice. Good weight and length with slightly sweet and warm finish.

Red
2001 Switchback Ridge Merlot Peterson Family Vineyard USA, California, Napa Valley
88 points
Small glass, brief note. Ripe black berries and plum with espresso, menthol and braised meat. Still nicely fresh, but finishes slightly warm.
Red
1977 Firestone Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Vintner's Reserve USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Ynez Valley
89 points
Small glass, brief note. From 6L opened and decanted several hours earlier. Fully, fully mature black cherry and plum with tobacco and eucalyptus, possibly mints hints on finish. Very enjoyable with good enough weight.
