2014 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino

Being pushed at the retail level, marked down to nearly half price. Fairly developed Brunello, good but not special. Minty and powdery tannins, decent balance in general not bad for $35 but as developed as it will get, for tonight or this month not the cellar. Needs a rich and meaty tomato based dish.

2017 Régis Bouvier Bourgogne En Montre Cul France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
86 points
Decent but really did not appeal to me.
Red
2018 Chateau Feuillet Torrette Italy, Valle d'Aosta, Torrette
90 points
Really liked this but did not buy it. Buttery fruit nose, dark color, juicy in the mouth with great finish. I have Bourgueil that will pair with the same foods.
Red
2017 Domaine de Fontsainte Corbières Reserve la Demoiselle France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Corbières
90 points
This vintage continues a pattern of quality, dark, rich and complex. Ages with grace. Great value

2018 Michel Delhommeau Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie Cuvée Harmonie France, Loire Valley, Pays Nantais, Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine
88 points
Vibrant, fresh and very typical Muscadet austerity of character. Nice value at $14. Had a discussion about this versus Picpoul, single purpose wines, great with seafood.
White
2018 André et Michel Quenard Vin de Savoie Les Abymes France, Savoie, Vin de Savoie
85 points
Vibrant acidity, but slightly tannic and not showing the focus of previous vintages. Probably work better with food but not something I need to have.

2018 Château Ducasse Blanc France, Bordeaux
90 points
Another good vintage of this wine. Fresh, tropical, slightly catty, great balance. Decent value at $15
White
2018 La Viarte Friuli Colli Orientali Ribolla Gialla Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Friuli Colli Orientali
Ok and somewhat fresh, but $25 it has to have some personality. This did nothing for me.
White
2017 La Soeur Cadette Mâcon-Villages France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Mâcon-Villages
86 points
Vague, slight citrus and yeast notes but ever so faint. Maybe with time but at $28 I will keep looking

2018 Meyer-Fonné Edelzwicker France, Alsace
86 points
Dominated by the Muscat in the blend. Balanced and easy to sip, decent value, and I would recommend it but does not ever get consumed in my cellar.

Red
2018 Tenuta La Pergola Cisterna d'Asti Il Goccetto Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Cisterna d'Asti
64% Brachetto Seco, 32% Barbera di Montferrato, 4% Bonarda

A lighter red blend, nice spice, but mildly tannic and really needs food to shine. Decent value at under $12
Red
2017 Domaine de Thulon (Famille Jambon) Régnié France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Régnié
Dark color, way over extracted and tannic, no joy here. Otherwise clean and acid balanced. Needed to be fined, egg whites, or rethink the whole approach to the grapes. Think I would have bulked this out
Red
2018 Domaine de la Chanteleuserie Bourgueil Cuvée Alouettes France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Bourgueil
90 points
Always fresh and very forward, this producer is consistently excellent. This classic CF is full of fruit and potential. Drink it young or in a few years it will still please.
Red
2015 Guerrieri Rizzardi Ripasso della Valpolicella Pojega Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Ripasso della Valpolicella
75 points
Minty, light, so-so, forgettable waste of money
