White
2017 Yves Boyer-Martenot Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
91 points
Walk around tasting, brief note. Rich start is nearly tropical with good+ concentration, with the density seeming to bring about more restrained fruit near long-ish and brighter finish. Enjoyable now, probably better in one year as oak influence softens, then best to enjoy 2020-2027.

2017 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Blanc France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
Walk around tasting. Completely engaging aromatic start is floral with so much apple and lemon curd. All orchard fruit on palate with impressive density and textural brightness. Long finish is equally engaging with seemingly tannic structure. Very good now, but 93-94 point potential, better 2025 forward.

Walk around tasting. Bright red with faint spice showing good weight, length and balance, but also rather subdued. I had very high expectations because this is normally a star in the Giroud lineup, but this bottle didn't quite live up to expectations in this great vintage. I will have to try this again in the next year.

Walk around tasting. Black fruit comes across as slightly rustic, but also meaty and with good depth. Cellar at least a few more years.

Walk around tasting. Forward black fruit to start, then more tannins that come across as "old school" Pommard from the middle forward. Good concentration for its level. Cellar to 2002 forward.

2015 Domaine Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Clémengeots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Marsannay
Walk around tasting. Starts out on the elegant side for Marsannay with black and red cherry, then more meaty and sturdy in the middle with good length. This wine seems to be getting better each time I try it. 88-89 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Black and red cherry with good balance, good enough depth and then good length with a bright finish. Good young.

Walk around tasting. Enjoyable, just light overall with more structure than I would prefer for the quality and depth of fruit. OK overall.

Walk around tasting. Fruit is clearly maturing, tannins still robust. OK overall.

2016 Gérard Mugneret Vosne-Romanée France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
Walk around tasting. More barnyard/ brett than I would prefer. Not nearly as interesting as another bottle from the same source tasted a few months back. Off bottle?

Walk around tasting. I was more optimistic the few times I tasted this just after release. Fruit comes across on the light side with a sturdy middle. Good enough overall now.

Walk around tasting. Plenty of black cherry with roasted meat hints. Good balance in the middle, even if finishing slightly backward. Very good potential, 89+ points. Better to cellar a little longer.

Walk around tasting. Black and red cherry throughout, this comes across as charming and approachable to start, but sneaky power comes through on an expanding finish. Good+ depth, good indeed now with upside.

Walk around tasting. Black cherry with some earth and faint sausage. Nose is more enjoyable today vs palate, which is slightly backward. Very good depth for Villages. Better 2021-.

Walk around tasting. More black vs red fruit with good depth, just tannins slightly awkward for the level of fruit. Better to cellar a little longer?

Walk around tasting. Charming combination of red and black cherry with balance throughout and sneaky power on long-ish finish. Probably better in another year or three.

Walk around tasting. Red cherry throughout with good depth and subtle spice. People who don't like Burgundy won't enjoy this wine with its moderate ripeness and emphasis on finesse, but it is certainly enjoyable. Probably better to cellar a bit more, best 2021-2031.

Walk around tasting. Black fruit with good concentration, imperfect balance and a firm finish that doesn't help the wine's moderate ripeness. Tough to tell if this gets more or less appealing with more cellar time.
