Introduction
As usual, we went at the end of the year to Chambolle to see Ghislaine Barthod and her husband Louis Boillot (with son Clement) to taste the vintage 2018 from barrel. Both pointed out, how critical it was to be on time with the harvesting. Missing the good window could lead to wines with very high degrees and non transformed sugars. They started by the end of August in the Côte de Beaune, than continued with harvesting their Beaujolais wines and finishing after the first Week of September with their Côte de Nuits holdings.

From barrel: excellent entry wine, nice volume, more on the red fruit side.

From barrel: red fruit, mainly cranberries, in line with the bon bâtons, but with more flesh.
