Flight 8 (1 note)

White - Off-dry
1988 Von Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Riesling Auslese Nr. 153 Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
94 points
Glass: Zalto Universal
Popped and poured. Tasted blind. Clear, youthful medium golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Unmistakable Ruwer, unmistakable Grünhaus! Herbaceous, elder flour, cassis, tangerine, mineral notes. Deep and complex, but also refreshing!
Hm, what is it? A very good and intense Spätlese or a light Auslese? It has powe, but not the depth and density of number Auslesen from very good years. Seeing that it is a number Auslese from a cold vintage makes perfect sense. Classic Grünhaus on the palate: Cassis, elder, mineral notes, herbs, some coconut. Very young and fresh. Lively, high acidity. 8% abv. Wonderful balance and harmony. Long, juicy and lingering finish. This particular bottle had at least 10+ years of life left. Great wine and experience. Thanks Marc! 93-94+

Flight 9 (1 note)

White - Off-dry
1989 Müller-Catoir Mußbacher Eselshaut Rieslaner Auslese Germany, Pfalz
93 points
Glass: Zalto Universal
Popped and poured. Nothing more to add to my last tasting note. A botrytis monster in the best sense. Give it time and air and don’t drink it too cold. 93

Flight 10 (1 note)

White - Sweet/Dessert
1946 Bodegas Toro Albala Don PX Convento Selección Spain, Andalucía, Montilla-Moriles
98 points
Glass: Zalto Universal
Popped and poured. This wine is special and cannot compared with anything else. Deep, brown color. Oily, brownish-yellow-green legs that coats and paints the glass for seconds.
Clean, pronounced and fully developed nose. It is super complex and ever changing. Plum, cinnamon, roasted walnut, nutmeg, autolytic notes. Warm, deep, pure harmony and balance. Intoxicating!
On the palate super intense! High, ripe and perfectly integrated acidity. Again, pure balance and harmony. Mouthcoating without cloying. 17% abv, wonderfully balanced by the acidity. Ripe plum juicy, cinnamon, honey, walnut, espresso, chocolate, spices and so on and so on. Very long and complex finish. This wine is immortal and a really unique experience. Is it 100 points? I don’t know, but I cannot think of any flaws or how to make it better. 98-100
