Flight 1 (1 note)

White - Off-dry
2004 Zilliken (Forstmeister Geltz) Saarburger Rausch Riesling Spätlese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
91 points
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Late release from the winery. Pale, youthful golden color. Beautiful fresh and young nose, with ripe lime, slight petrol notes, herbs, slate. Beautiful classic Saar Spätlese. Ripe citrus fruit, medium acidity, limestone, juicy. Very joyful, now at its full peak with no hurry at all. Good balance and length. 91-92

Flight 2 (1 note)

White
1996 Franz Hirtzberger Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Honivogl Austria, Niederösterreich, Wachau
92 points
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Clear, medium golden-amber color. Beautiful smoky nose. Almost oily, wonderful texture. Deep and dense. Medium- acidity, this makes the wine a bit broad and less exciting. Nevertheless, long finish and overall a beautiful wine at its full peak. 92-93

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
2001 Château Montus Madiran La Tyre France, Southwest France, Madiran
93 points
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Decanted for about 1h. Deep, ruby color. Clean, medium intense nose. Surprisingly fruity, not with the usual Montus barn notes. Some tobacco, espresso chocolate.
On the palate also a big surprise: I expected extreme tannin, but the high tannin was silky and wonderfully integrated. This bottle was still on the fruity side than on the tertiary aroma side. Very joyful to drink, quite complex, good balance. Long. Potential for at leas another decade. Worth the pricetag? Hm, probably not. 92-93

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
1982 Château La Lagune France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Good fill level, good cork. Nice nose with some cigarbox. On the palate ok, medium+ acidity still good integrated, but it lacked pressure and depth. Drinkable, not flawed, but past peak. Not rated.

Flight 5 (1 note)

White - Off-dry
2007 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
92 points
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Lovely, classic WeSo Auslese at the very beginning of its development. Juicy and not too sweet. Long finish. Good potential for the next 2 decades. 92-93+
