Introduction
Just a little lunchtime tasting for me...
Flight 1 (26 notes)
Red
2017 Juniper Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Juniper Crossing
Slight blackcurrant fruit, cream, slight cedar. Fruit sweet, light tannins. yeah, kind of nice but a little <shrugs>
Red
2016 Juniper Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Small Batch
Blackcurrant, cedar, slight eucalyptus/mint . Juicy, fruit a little sharp, tannins are drying. Meh.
Red
2015 Juniper Estate Aquitaine Rouge
Cedar, oak, blackcurrant, slight pencil shavings, sweet spice. Juicy acid, slightly sharp, tight chalky tannins, fruit a little muted. Meh.
Red
2014 Juniper Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Blackcurrant tends to cassis, slight cigar box, touch of pencil of shavings, cedar, sweet spice. Juicy, fruit sweet, touches of sour Ribena, tannic grip lends tightness. Fruit struggles to persist. Fresh. I can see the attraction but it's not for me.

Red
2017 Petits Detours Gamay
Slightly herbaceous, muted fruit, slight pepper. Tart red berry fruit, a little soft tannic burr. Hmm.
Red
2018 Domaine des Carabiniers Côtes du Rhône Lunar Apogé
Gamey, meaty, dark hued fruit, slight earth. tight though silky tannins, fruit sweet but muted. Medium length. Hmm.
Red
2014 Domaine des Carabiniers Lirac Lunar Apogé
Red and black fruits, a little spice, leather, charcuterie. Juicy acid, sweet spice, similar fruits, plenty of front of mouth grip, a little pepper on the finish.
Red
2017 Domaine des Carabiniers Lirac Lunar Apogé
Bright wild red berry fruit backed by earthy, spicy, funky notes. Juicy tangy, tannins lends fleshiness. Similar fruit profile.
Red
2015 Domaine des Carabiniers Châteauneuf-du-Pape Lunar Apogé
Initially quite farmyard and backed red fruits, sweet spice. Juicy, savoury, spicy, plenty of tannins, warm fruit. Young, long. Lovely.
Red
2015 Château Haut Boutisse
Dusty, creamy, almost, slightly herbaceous, very perfumed and slightly jubey plums, caramel. Juicy, fleshy, silky tannins, broad mid palate. Fruit a little muted but otherwise nice.
Red
2014 Château Lafon La Tuilerie
Plums, very slight chocolate, caramel, vanilla. Juicy, oddly a bit of a mid palate scoop, some front of mouth and gum grip. Bit meh for me.
Red
2011 Château Segur de Cabanac
Blackcurrant, a little crushed rock, cedar, cigar box, sandalwood, pencil shavings. Marvellously huge tannins close down the palate completely. Will time solve this? With enough protein who cares! Such fun.
Red
2017 Cellier des Samsons Beaujolais-Villages
Medium minus intensity aromas of cherry with a touch of darker hued fruit, a little spice. More whole bunch and berry on the palate, structured; plenty of tannins. Long. Pretty nice and at a great price point.
White
2018 Joseph Cattin Pinot Blanc
pear and pear skin; very fruit pure. Juicy, the palate a reflection of the nose, the pear skin lending bitterness. Nice.
White
2018 Joseph Cattin Pinot Gris
Pear tends to melon, slightly herbs and spices with a peachy top note. Definitely some residual sugar here, a little too much in fact. Nah. Too much.
White
2017 Joseph Cattin Riesling
Medium minus intensity aromas of lime with a touch of sweet ripeness. Sharp acid, a little lime cordial. Short.
White
2015 Joseph Cattin Riesling Hatschbourg
Lemon, lime, wet dog, slight herbaceous notes. Tart with sharp acid, a little touch of burr on the front of mouth. Medium plus length
White
2017 J. Moreau & Fils Petit Chablis
Medium minus intensity aromas of lemon, slight butter...more of the same on the palate with sharp acid.
White
2017 J. Moreau & Fils Chablis
Lemon, peach, a little dusty spice. Slight tart, green apple joins citrus on the palate, a little texture. Hmm.
Red
2018 Domaine Joël Delaunay Gamay Touraine
Pretty, jubey, cherry with a creamy underpin, cherry, a little spice, fresh acid, medium plus length. Good.
White - Sparkling
2015 Alliance Loire Vouvray Pétillant Brut Excellence De Chanceny Tête de Cuvée
Lemon, a little wax, lanolin. Sharp acid, lemon citrus drops a little quickly leaving slight bitterness. Hmm.
Red
2016 Piazzo Comm. Armando Langhe Nebbiolo
Orange, sour cherry, earthy. Juicy, tight tannins close everything down. Hmm
Red
2014 Piazzo Comm. Armando Barbaresco Fratin
Pot Pourri, dried orange peel, very slight cork taint. Juicy but tannins dominate (unsurprisingly)
Red
2013 Piazzo Comm. Armando Barolo
Oak, polished oak, plums over cherries, sweet spice. Juicy acid, lashings of drying talc textured tannins close things down but the fruit carries under this. Time.
Red
2012 Piazzo Comm. Armando Barbaresco Riserva Nervo Vigna Giaia
Rich, again new oak, plums, pot pourri. Juicy, savoury, meaty, plummy fruit subservient to this. Plenty of drying tannins, tiny medium minus intensity alcohol warmth but this is pretty good.
Closing
pleasant way to spend a lunchtime...lots of things to enjoy here...bravo Bacchus!
