Red
1983 Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill USA, California, Napa Valley, Diamond Mountain
89 points
Cedary, earthy and leafy nose. Light-to-medium concentrated on the palate. Seems a bit soft.
Red
1987 Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville
93 points
Beautiful mint-infused Bordeaux like nose. Nice plum fruit with resolved tannin, though still quite fresh. A+ nose / Solid palate.
Red
1987 Dunn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain USA, California, Napa Valley, Howell Mountain
92 points
Not as enjoyable as a bottle I was able to sit with 3-4 months ago. This glass was broodingly stubborn on the nose. Palate was chewy and dense with sweet fruit. Still needs time to integrate. Upside with aeration or a few more years in the cellar.
White
2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
93 points
Magnum. Fresh as a daisy with a full nose of apples and peaches. Palate has rich and vibrant fruit with racy acids. Still quite young. Re-tasted after a few hours and it was going strong.
Red
2003 Château Mouton Rothschild France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
93 points
Sweet, toasty and creamy nose of rich (but not ripe/roasted) plum fruit. Delicious with a silky, smooth mouth feel. Tannins are so well integrated. Well balanced. A success in a hot vintage.

White
2004 Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Grandes Ruchottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
93 points
Gorgeous nose with mature and just slightly oxidized fruit. Palate is rich and juicy. Still lush and fresh. No upside in holding, I'd guess.
Red
2000 Château Pavie France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Over-ripe and roasted nose. Palate follows suit with roasted and alcoholic fruit. I can't bring myself to drink this stuff.
White - Sparkling
2004 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut France, Champagne
93 points
Rich, decadent and toasty fruit. Energetic across the palate into a chewy, tense finish.

2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Valmur France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Attractive spicy, floral nose meets a tight and sharply acidic palate. Needs time to soften and integrate, hopefully. 87 today, with upside if the edges soften and the wine integrates.
White
2015 Bernard Boisson-Vadot Meursault Les Chevalières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
92 points
Smoky and reductive orchard fruit aromas. Palate is rich and chewy with plenty of fresh acids, and maintains that reductive styling.
Red
2017 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
90 points
Pronounced florals in the cherry nose with just a hint of greenness in the herbs. Juicy and bright on the palate with crunchy red fruit. Accessible already.
White
1999 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
93 points
Magnum. Wow, so good at this age. Fresh, reductive nose of orchard fruit and match stick. Yum, so richly fruited with chewy delicious and lively white fruit. So integrated and seamless with 20+ years of age.
White
2017 Olivier Bernstein Corton-Charlemagne France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Very primary with ripe, tropical fruit. Not at all subtle. Where will this go from here?
Red
2017 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
93 points
Perfumed red and black cherry with florals and intense spice. So round and juicy with suave, well-integrated structure. Smoky, musky finish. Drinking well now though should cellar for the medium term.
Red
2012 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvees Pagets France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
90 points
Full black cherry nose. Larger scaled with chewy rich black cherry. Good now, but should hold as it has plenty of structure.
Red
2002 Colgin Cariad USA, California, Napa Valley
Pruny ripe plum fruit nose. Very ripe and also astringent. Not my cup of team.
Red
2014 Château Margaux France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
92 points
Gorgeous black cherry and plum aromas with intense florals. A medium bodied palate that is very elegant and refined. This was more forward and seamless than I would have guessed.

2009 Georges Laval Champagne Premier Cru Brut Nature Les Chênes France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru
Higher toned aromas of oxidative ripe white fruit. The palate is taut and lean with plenty of structure but not enough fruit for my taste. Struggle with this producer.
Red
2007 Domaine Dujac Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
92 points
07/08 side by side. The nose here is more rich, black cherry and baritone. Palate is similarly rich, and full of flavor. Very good on its own, but not as 'on' as the 2008.
Red
2008 Domaine Dujac Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
93 points
07/08 side by side. The 08 simply singing right now. The nose is lifted, bright and layered -- red cherry, stem, spice and earth all working together. The palate is juicy and delineated with a long, attractive finish.
White
2000 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
93 points
Superbly fresh nose has reductive orchard fruits. The palate is still quite fresh, lively and bright. So much depth of flavor. In peak form now.
Red
1978 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Romanée St. Vivant France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru
93 points
Wow, mature red cherry with pronounced Vosne spice in the nose. Hard to believe a wine going of 40+ years can still have this much spice-filled red and black cherry. Solid freshness throughout though perhaps just a touch austere in the finish, but that's a nit.
Red
1999 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
95 points
Some 1999s are still shut down, but not this one. Soaring nose of stem and spice-filled black cherry is so pure and bright. Round, plush and generous on the palate. Intense and attractive stems. Great with some upside from here.
Red
2000 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
92 points
Earth, meat and funk filled nose. The palate offers more purity of rich fruit and spice. Grand Cru concentration with a lively finish. At peak now, Ken. Okay nose, terrific palate.
Red
2005 Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate Le Coste Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
92 points
Fairly tight on the nose. Palate is more ripe and giving with plenty of musky fruit. But fairly one note now. Needs time. 92 today. Upside from here.
Red
2000 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Riserva Monfortino Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
95 points
Hugely aromatic with earthy red cherry, licorice and violets. Wow, so much concentration on the palate. Delicious now, even with the grippy tannin, but will be so much better in another decade or two.
