Two years of post disgorgement ageing have served it well, it is still very energetic and focused, minerally and precise, but it is just a bit more relaxed and the fruit is starting to show itself. Good future.
2018 Le Piane Bianko Italy, Piedmont, Vino da Tavola

From centenarian Erbaluce grapes planted on volcanic soils outside the DOC area for Erbaluce di Caluso. Succulent pear and Alpine herbs, delicately honeyed, nice bitters provide structure, nutty finish. Lovely.
2017 Domaine Felettig Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny

Identical to my previous note. This is such a charmer, even at this young age, but with all the depth, richness and precision you would hope for in a Chambolle Vieilles Vignes.

A recent acquisition at auction. Bottled at 17.5% ABV. Very evolved colour, medium deep, sombre bricky red, broad mahogany rim; the nose shows some nutty evolution, with lovely cedar and good spicy depth; the palate is much more vibrant than the colour and the nose would suggest, lively and fresh, with strawberry fruit and even a touch of citrus, good intensity and elegant sweetness; refreshing finish with good resonance and length. Extra point for longevity.
