*** brief note from vertical tasting ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Youthful, yeasty nose, some orange zest, elder, herbs. More open than 2017. On the palate warm fruit, lots of extract that give this wine a slight sweet appearance. Very mineral, herbaceous, zesty and quite open. Lots of pressure. Good length. Wait 2-3+ years. 92++

Popped and poured. Clear, medium golden color. A bit oxidative notes with mellow apple. Drinks nicely right now, very dense and mineral. Some residual sugar. Medium+ acidity. Some oxidative notes. Probably not an optimal bottle, but still 91-92+

Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Woderful deep, mineral and complex nose, not even close to full development. On the palate a monster in the making, but still rather closed or shut down. Vibrant energy, high acidity, enormous extract, very precise and focused. Lots of chalky mineral. Very long! Great potential. 92+++ Wait 5+ years.

Popped and poured. Clear, pale yellow color. Even better nose than 2017, because already quite open. Ripe yellow stone fruit, grapefruit, lime, herbs. Deep, dense and very beautiful.
The noticeable residual sugar is well balanced by the high and racy acidity. Very mineral and dense. Wonderful fruit, herbs and zests. Beautiful balance. Round and joyful. Very long finish. 93+

Unfortunately with slight TCA, otherwise an outstanding wine.

Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Beautiful dense and smoky nose with lots of wet stones. On the palate lots of lime and citrus, high acidity, great pressure and tension. Herbs, lime oil, mineral. Needs at least 4-5+ years to fully shine and will turn into a beautiful Nonnenberg. 92++

Popped and poured. Clear, golden color. Warm, smoky and dense nose. On the palate speck, smoke, warm yellow fruit, nice medium+ acidity, very dense, deep and long. One of the better 2001 bottles so far. This bottle would have had potential for another decade. 93-94

Popped and poured. Clear, deep orange glowing color. Very dense and deep nose with lots of zests, honey and botrytis.
Beautiful Singerriedel with lots of extract, energy and depth. 13,5% abv. Zesty, smoked meat, great mineral core, very long. This bottle was maybe not 100% perfect and at its full peak. Still a wonderful experience! 95

Popped and poured. Clear, golden color. Very smoky, mineral notes with lime and citrus notes. Dense, deep and very beautiful.
Lean, lots of pressure, some flint stone, very moneral and deep. Lots of lime, citrus, zests and herbs. Showed equally well as some weeks ago 94+

Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden color. Not optimal cork and bottle. Some oxidized notes, mellow apple. Very mineral, dense, lots of pressure, but not showing the full potential. Hence no rating.

Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Beautiful flight and I preferred the 2009 vintage. Nose with lots of lime, zests, herbs, floral and mineral notes. So beautiful and complex.
On the palate lots of ripe fruit packed in a vibrant and very energetic wine. Lots of pressure and length. 94

Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Beautiful flight and I preferred the 2009 vintage. 2007 will be the better wine on the long run, but it needs to blend in its sweetness.
Beautiful nose, floral, herbaceous, smoky. Complex and multi-layered. On the palate great substance and energy, but also some noticeable residual sugar that needs to blend in. Dense, deep and beautiful tension. Very long. 93-94++

Popped and poured. What a surprise for this complicated vintage! Nose with some botrytis, vanilla, but also lots of crushed stones.
Very deep, dense and mineral. Astonishingly lean, not broad and not too much botrytis. Very zesty, some bitte orange notes, some green, harsh notes. Long. 92-93

Popped and poured. Warm, beautiful nose. Same on the palate. Lots of extract and chalky mineral notes. Zests, orange peel, deep and long. Even though very young, it makes already so much fun! 93+

Popped and poured. Beautiful wine, but for me the weakest in this vertical. Some slightly green notes, broad warm fruit. But also dense and mineral. 91

Red
2009 Bernhard Huber Hecklinger Schlossberg Spätburgunder Großes Gewächs Germany, Baden

Decanted for about 4h. Deep ruby color. Beautiful intense Pinot nose with fine red fruit, herbs, meat. Deep and dense. Beautiful ripe fruit, balanced by medium+/high acidity. Some coffee, herbs, speck, medium+ silky tannin. Juicy and long. Will continue to improve for another decade. 93-94
